BIG CROWD, NO PROBLEM Friday's crowd of 11,095 was the largest Oklahoma has played in front of since 24,180 watched the Sooners drop a 3-2 decision to South Carolina at the 2010 College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium. Paid attendance was 12,007 while the actual number was an LSU record.

Whatever could be anything. The aforementioned is fact.

Like I posted earlier, Nola was two pitches better than Gray in Game 1.

Both starters were throwing darts.

I can't believe we finally ran Gray.

I can see arguing that Gray has better mechanics at pitching but debating this reminds me of that scene from Moneyball where the guys are trying to tell Pitt's character that player-x is a good hitter and he responds with "how come he doesn't hit well?"
When it all comes down to it, Nola won, Gray didn't. That, IMO, is the most important stat. It is a bit like this:

Nola wasn't in the draft this year, so that comparison is irrelevant.

Just sayin.

So what makes gray so much better , Nola has a better won loss ....oh wait he didnt lose a game against better competition. He has another year like this year it will be a crying shame to not go in the top 5. They are both good stop sucking the losing pitchers cock because espn said he was better

OU's lineup is pretty pathetic too. Would've loved to see how Nola would've fared against our lineup.

Come on people when was the last time our line up struck fear in the opposing pitcher. Nola would do the same thing against our guys he did last night. The offense hasnt been the same since the middle of the season ...hence when they started seeing good pitching . If you think Nola would not do the same against our guys then your crazy

I would have developed laird into a guy who could steal bases. How can someone that fast not be good at stealing bases?

Yep. He was throwing way too hard way too much. It was a matter of time before it caught up to him. He's a great pitcher. He got worked though.

Nola was Greg maddox style tonight.

I was a big fan of the Braves in the 90's and I think you have a good point, Nola looks a lot like Maddox. Gray throws harder, but no way he has more movement on the ball than Nola. As far as command, keeping the ball down, and hitting the edges, Nola gets the nod there too. Just my biased opinion, but you can't argue with facts. If Nola continues to pitch the way he has this year, he will be drafted in the top 10, possibly top 5.

Gray>Nola

100 mph fastball ... Great change up and nasty slider

Put both pitchers against the same lineup and gray will have better stats 9/10 times

Win loss doesn't determine best pitcher. Thats why a cy young can win with a .500 win loss. Record. What was their run support like

I may have missed it, but I didn't hear the announcers say he touched 100 mph last night.

Doesn't matter how hard you throw. UO's pitcher threw harder but lost. I don't have a problem with anyone giving cudo's to UO's pitcher because he is a great one. But the lack of respect some of you have for Nola is stupid. You can argue Gray is better or not that is fine, but to just concide it when the only reason is his fast ball is faster is sad. Nola leads Gray in many many important stats AND against harder competion. Hell some of you need to put ON the purple and gold glasses.

This.

Nola has faced some good line ups this year and is still undefeated.
IMO Control>Power.

How about we look at just the sophomore stats between the two. I cant even imagine what Nola will look like next season.

Gray hit 98 about as many times as Nola hit 92 last night. Take your "weak shite" out of here
