Hard to win when your not shooting well, nobody rebounding in the 2nd half and can't make FTs.

Following your shot isn’t always correct. In fact if your shooting anywhere near the top of the key it’s the absolute wrong thing to do.

I agree if your taking 3s etc but they would shot and maybe 1 person tried to rebound. Angel was timid in Q1 got 3 or 4 shots blocked the played well in Q2/3 but that last foul was dumb.

There was also a lot of standing around on the offensive end in the second half. Offensive rebounding went to shite because of it.

Lol no one follows their shot, or is taught to follow your shot.

This is something moms in the stands heard once and scream every time theres a long rebound

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say?

Following your shot is one of those things that you’re told to do in jr high when you expect to miss every shot…sounds like that could be where you topped out. Only people following their shots are people shooting inside the paint. Everybody else is retreating to stop easy transition offense.

Depth? Absolutely an issue.

FT shooting, not great but not why they lost.

Neither Carolina nor LSU shot FT's well. Rebounding was about even as was shooting percentages. It was a very even game.

If LSU seemed to be standing around on O in 4thQ, it was because they were trying to get a rest in.

LSU lost because Carolina had 8-9 players who could play and we have 5.

I’m not disagreeing but are these statistics published anywhere? Some of us old school guys don’t understand.
- don’t block /box out
- don’t follow your shot
- don’t jump to rebound
- fall forward when shooting
-…

100% correct. Boxing out is one of the most important things about playing defense.

quote:

don’t follow your shot

Following shot is really unimportant unless the shot is taken inside or near the paint. 70% of missed 3's are rebounded on the opposite side of the rim. Following your shot from top of key sets up the opposing team for transition offense because generally the player at the top has first back responsibility.

don’t jump to rebound

This is almost strictly a women's basketball issue.

quote:

fall forward when shooting

Poor fundamentals is an epidemic in todays basketball.

To their credit, SC is a long, athletic, quick team with more depth than LSU. Our team battled last night.

I loved a moment in the 3d qtr when their C rejected Reese and talked a little smack. On the next possession, with a 4-5 in height difference, Reese rejected her and gave it back to her. That is LSU WBB!

We need to improve our 3-pt shooting (IMO Johnson disappeared a little in the 2d half), but if we stay healthy, this team will only get better and be right there in March.

OP is downvoting every comment that says you shouldn't follow your shot. He wants to be right so bad, but he just isn't.
