Things they can cut:

Tiger One Village
Fireworks when the team runs out
Putting up lighted "ring of honor" names 30 years late.
Game marshalls (if they are paid)
Every expense associated with homecoming
Every penny they pay to turf managers

As I think of more, I'll update the post.

i think we have already put up a lot more than 100 each - my 2 tickets in a 93,000 seat stadium were 1000 bucks with the mandatory donation and im in the end zone and THEY cant afford to send the pep band to Seattle - do the math - its just greed and cliche lame excuses

Lets say they bring 50 people;

Flight $500 x 50 = $25,000
15 Hotel Rooms for 2 nights $240 (120/nt) x 15 = $3600
Bus transportation for the weekend = $5000
Food ($15/meal for 9 meals for 50) = $6750
Contingency: $5000
-----------------------------------------------

TOTAL: $45,350

$45,350/100 = Just 454 people at $100 to cover this by my estimates.

Wow... that's it??? I think it's ridiculous and I hope Alleva feels the heat from the press and the fans on this one. This aint Duke.

This was LSU's revenue in 2007-08

Can someone do the math... $45,000 divided by $84 million??

So LM's salary keeps a band of 50 from going to wash or extra 100 or so from going to om, or bama....
Damn Les, sacrifice son.

Somebody needs to tell Alleva that this isn't Duke..We need to find a way to get at least the pep band there. Also, from what I understand, if we go to the SECCG the full band from both teams are represented. Just like in bowl games. The SEC helps pay the tab for that....i think.

just to clarify; the reason for the band not going wasnt explained in the newsletter that told us we werent going but i can only assume its a budget thing. also i know that the directors faught to get us there but it may have come down to either going and cutting money for the new band hall or staying home.

What is Les Miles & Joe Alleva's e-mail? Time to send a friendly but strongly worded e-mail.

I'm serious.

one would think the dept would set aside money for one time things such as a road trip to wash and full band sec trip... its not like the fuking schedule is made months in advance.

They ran a damn public campaign to raise money for that. They've been having the same band hall forever and the majority of their work is conducted outside anyway. The band directors have been there forever, maybe they'd like new digs like the coaches get, but come on. Faculty isn't getting new offices.

College marching bands attend college football games. Period.

Maybe the university shouldn't have charted round trip flights twice for Les and his kids to go to Omaha. He couldn't stick around for 3 days? It's not like he had to rush back to get Storm Johnson's commitment

What's next to cut, 7:00pm kickoff's to prevent such a high energy bill?

Who knows how to start a website?

www.sendthebandtowashington.com

This'll be terrible PR for Alleva if we the fans raise this money, when it's his job to do exactly that.

Funny how we've always sent a pep band to every away game for as long as I can remember ... and a full band to one SEC game for as long as I can remember, yet less than a year after Alleva gets here from Duke this somehow gets cut out.
