I'm a part of the older crowd (well, older than average). I wish we could get Tiger Stadium sounding more like 1996, but let's keep it fun for the kids so they have something to get excited about.

You mean the students that left the game? That's who they were hyping up? Well the piped in music didn't keep them in the stadium.

Eh? Traditionally they only play when we get a stop (Chinese Bandits) while the defense is on the field, right? Our different songs are for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down on offense.

TGBFT was one of my favorite parts of going to games. Always got people pumped. I don't want to hear stupid speaker music

I understand what you are saying but today's generation wants to be entertained every second of the game. The old school games would be boring to today's standards. It will never return, sorry to tell you.

Guys, they had to cut the Band budget due to the economic hardships on the university. There was no way to keep funding the band with our Administrations recent money grab..er...fiscal challenges.
On a totally separate note, how about paying Mile $9M to leave!
Tiger band is and has been funded by the athlet department since the early 70's.

Student section blurting out profanities ruined that. Just like Tiger Rag, Neck, etc.

The third down song is when we are on offense so it has very little to do with the opponent.

I honestly believe if they played "neck" it would help with the fans leaving early. Neck makes Death Valley! Make Death Valley great again!

That is an awesome atmosphere!
The Tiger Band's diminished role is part of the reason I don't bother to go to games anymore. Piped in music doesn't get 100K+ people singing along and participating like the real band does. I can sit in a chair and listen to whatever music I want to at home, why would I pay for a ticket and drive to Baton Rouge to do the same thing?

There has been no greater experience for me in Tiger Stadium than to sing along to Neck while the Tigers are beating their opponent.
I don't like "STTDB" but we should play it regardless of whatever the audience cheers.
