Would anyone have a problem if LSU decided to decline an invite to the NIT? Does playing a game in this tournament really matter at this point?

I would like to play in the NIT, if they select us.

The NIT would be lucky to have our LSU Tigers. We have Ben Simmons and he's gonna be the #1 pick in the NBA draft. That's a big deal y'all.

They might squeeze one NIT win in the way it looks & get clocked in the 2nd game on the road
Hard to get fired up even if LSU was to reach the Semi's at Madison Square Garden

I don't have much of an interest, but I think it would be childish to decline a bid. you play all year for a post season bid...you don't decline simply because you didn't do well enough to get the one you wanted.

College athletics is about competition and learning to grow and develop; you know that NCAA commercial about all the kids who "turned pro" after college, in a field other than their chosen sport.
We have one superstar who will make big money playing ball, and maybe another couple who might do okay. Jones owes it to the rest of the team, if nobody else, to teach them that you finish things out even when it isn't going the way you want it.

Any nba team that takes Simmons over Ingram should lose its franchise
