i know its crazy but i think replacing JOB with Elfert and then gaining Gray and Hornsby on the perimeter makes us better

I don't think Elfert is better than JOB but I think the difference made in how we can guard 1s, 2s, and 3s will be what makes the most impact, especially bc of how refs call games now, it favors the slashing teams

Considering that the start of next season is 8-9 months away and there's tons of variables that could or could not come to fruition, I don't see how disagreeing with your opinion that LSU won't make the tournament next year equates to delusional. The nature of your post seems pretty inflammatory to me so I think he bit on a lame troll attempt, but considering our young talent that should be back next yaer, good upperclassman that will be coming in (Gray & Hornsby), coupled with a talented recruiting class, I don't see why next year's team wouldn't have a decent shot at making the tournament. This year's team was frustrating to watch, but they were a few games away from making it this year and there's no reason that next years team can't be better.

Just think if we beat UMass, Rhode Island, don't implode at A&M and Bama, get the UK OT win, and beat UGA at home, we're 25-7 and most likely dancing. Despite horrendous play at times, we're not that far off.

Agreed JJones is a good recruiter but there was no excuse for our road record. We were lucky to make the NIT.

That's a lot of "ifs". What if Hickey doesn't hit a huge 3 to send the Butler game into OT? What if South Carolina hits their shot at the buzzer to beat LSU? What if Vandy on the road doesn't completely dry up an miss open shot after open shot in the 2nd half? It goes both ways

However, I agree that LSU is not that far off. The worry though is that the same issues LSU was having at the beginning of the season never got fixed or reduced by the end of the season. SEC play just amplified the in-game problems, most notably the defensive woes.

Can they be fixed over the offseason? Sure.
Will the new players, especially Hornsby and Gray make an impact? Hopefully.

However after watching the teams' play on the court this season, it's hard to have a lot of confidence in the staff right now

so what are your qualifications and rationale to discredit his optimism? nobody knows anything about next year but he seems clear on why he thinks our perimeter defense will be better. I tend to agree. Also, the "team" will be forced to play as one with JOB gone. sometimes its addition by subtraction. I love JOB but I think we move the ball better with him gone and play more consistently on offense. Also, hornsby is 6'4" and can shoot the ball. He will also be a presence on the perimeter of defense. Gray is 6'1". This will cure a large part of our perimeter struggles

Do you have anything to add other than spewing derogatory remarks?

This game in SF is almost sold out. Missed my chance to sit with the LSU NorCal Alumn in their section, but only one section of tickets left.

Could be a fun atmosphere

Do you know how many tickets the NorCal group bought?

There should be a decent showing for LSU considering how small their stadium is. I think the NorCal Alumni Association is more football oriented, but they sent out an email so they should get some people out. I have a few friends who will be in attendence that bought their tickets individually. It was explained to me that the $10 lower level tickets are general admission and the $9 upper level tickets might be assigned seats?

I'm not sure. We have gotten about 50-75 people for women's games down in Palo Alto before, so I'm guessing that 100 would be a good showing.
