Ill be the first to say I was elated to hear the news of Miles firing. We had gotten stale on offense and the hulking grey storm cloud that is 21-0 stunk up the place.

Enter Orgeron 2017.

Ill start with the loss to Troy, because I believe thats the lowest LSU football will go for years to come. That woke up the sleeping tiger. Simply put, we are in a better position of success than ANY team in the entire SEC not named Bama.

OM, Arkansas, Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn. All of those teams have coaching change rumors swirling. Zero stability. So why does this benefit LSU?

Next year we will be fielding a year 2 Canada offense. One that will have no more growing pains and enough threat to make teams respect us. And the defense will be even better. The other teams will be breaking in new styles much like us this year.

Our rivals are no longer thorns in our sides. Arkansas and OM both roll over to us and for once the talent difference shows. We no longer play down to them.

We sparked our largest comeback in Tiger stadium history against top 6 Auburn.

We sit in prime position to get to 10 wins and a bowl against a respectable team in Michigan or some other team like Michigan. (Hopefully Michigan. frick I want that).

Someone needs to tell the negas the last time we got to 10 wins.

Next year will decide the path LSU is destined to go down.

We open with a top 5 Miami team.

A game with the magnitude of 2011 Oregon.

Orgerons first season as HC of LSU is about to be better than weve done it in years. Troy was the catalyst. This team is coming.

And they arent backing down.

Well to be fair if mcnese doesn’t cancel we’re at 10 wins just 2 years ago. However I do love the turn around. It’s much nicer having some excitement back. O needs to take advantage of the?marks across the Sec with coaching rumors by landing some top talent. Next year is a brutal schedule but if O can get to 10 wins n b2b seasons 2019 will be a year where Lsu could fight for number one class. It won’t get easier though. Especially if jimbo ends up at a&m and chip ends up at UF. That puts O and Lsu up against Saban Fisher and Chip every year. That’s tough sledding

The law of averages has to provide us with an above average QB at some point.

This isn't happening. If Fisher were to go to the SEC, it wouldn't be to A&M. I know they have all that $$$ and all that, but his contract per year is huge and his buyout is even larger. I know Fl. State has really struggled this year but still. His buyout rivals some NFL head coaching numbers.

Kelly is the new Gruden. Everyone is looking to hire the next Saban but it's more likely they would get someone like Scott Frost, who's an hour away in Orlando.

I do agree though, Miami will be tough but Rozier can go pro after this season (I think). He is a junior. I knew Richt would do well there, he always did at UGA.

I believe Canada and Aranda will leave within the next two years. I also have no faith in O’s ability to maintain the program. O will be fired in 5 or so years and LSU football will be mediocre at best by then.

We’re paying a head coach NOT to coach.

That’s always a surefire path to winning SEC and national championships.

This system is built on a house of cards and when it comes crashing down, the program will be set back at least twice as long as O’s tenure.

couldnt the same be said for D. Swinney at clemson? I'm not saying O will be him but your kinda saying this about him at clemson when he was hired

got this quote about swinney:
quote:

In 2002, his former position coach at Alabama, Tommy Bowden, made Swinney an offer to become an assistant coach for the wide receivers at Clemson, and Swinney joined in 2003. He took over as Recruiting Coordinator from popular longtime coordinator Rick Stockstill. Swinney proved to be both an excellent wide receivers coach as well as recruiting coordinator, coaching ACC-leading receivers and being named one of the nation's top 25 recruiters in 2007 by

I mean fill in wr's coach with Dl coach and it kinda reads the same. Coach O does have that short stay at Ole miss as head coach but unless your cheating you aint winning at ole miss.

Well we sure paid Miles and Cameron a lot to "not coach" for several years. So if there is a down fall it started before O. So O can either put it back on track, or we are back to that 8-4 team and Texas Bowls.

Two years ago, but for a cancellation. Miles would not have broken the OOC win streak.

*you’re.

And that’s not how I would characterize their historically worst head coaching stint.

For the second year in a row we appear to be bringing in weak offensive line class. Last year we signed four, but one was a sludge, no one else wanted, who never reported to the team.

This year we will probably end up with three again. That’s six offensive linemen in two years. The bare minimum should be eight, but nine is the right number. Orgeron will have to be extremely lucky to avoid having a weak offensive line in three years.

BTW, JUCOs don’t count unless we’re talking of the ones recruited in 2019. The ones recruited this year will be gone by the time the trouble arises.

So Orgeron is failing before our very eyes. And he’s failing the same way Miles did. Miles’ inability to get numbers on the dline in years in which our state was weak caused his teams to fall out of contention.

Miles also failed to get the numbers at linebacker, but there he was extraordinarliy lucky, as last-recruit-in-the-class Debo Jones and Duke Riley panned out.

I’ll say this for Orgeron, hefixed dline and linebacker recruiting. Maybe he can pulla rabbit out of the hat on the oline.

My concern is that our season turned around only after Alleva got involved - allegedly.

Les won the west in year 1 while also dealing with issues as a result of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Ed lost to Troy and will have faced 5 coaches who won't be coaching the team they are coaching this year (OM, UF, UT, arky, aTm) and will likely finish 3rd in the west.

but yeah, 10 win season, its been forever since that happened*

Disagree with most of this. LSU is not in a better position than Georgia. They are 9-1 and will play in the SEC championship with a shot at the playoff and a national title. Plus, they are killing recruiting.

Second, i seriously doubt there are swirling coaching rumors in Auburn considering they sit at No. 6 and have a chance to play for the SEC championship with a win over Bama.

Our recruiting class for this year may land in the top 15 and we will lose our star running back, star receiver, star pass rusher and senior QB who has clearly our performed Brennan who has little experience.

Now we habe to play a top 10 and rising Miami team along with Georgia nex year. Im all for positivity and supporting the Tigers, but facts are facts. We will be a middle of the pack SEC team next year again.

If Auburn is considering getting rid of Malzahn right now, then college football is broken and beyond repair.

We have a far above average quarterback leading this team right now. You trifling shitbag sociology program flying monkeys are desperate to control the false narratives against coach O, and his quarterback.
