But you need to realize that a play that works against one team in a certain situation might not work against another team in the same or a different situation. The OP's point is that he ran the same few plays against Bama year after year. I really wonder what they did in the bye week before the Alabama game every year.

That wasn't the toss dive. The toss dive is run behind the guards; all the tosses/sweeps run against ole miss were off tackle. Makes a hugeeeee difference when it's designed to go outside instead of LF7 trying to bounce outside when the middle is clogged.

Now that we've seen the "updated" offense can you imagine how easy it must have been for other teams to prepare for toss dive left, toss dive right, or bomb to Malachi? It makes me laugh just thinking about it now

Who knew LSU had tight ends, and they could actually catch a football?

And who's this Chark fellow?

Doesn't matter what folder he pulls out, or what play we run, if we can't control the LOS, it will be the same sad story...

Miles always wanted to break out the secret playbook, he just forgot the combination to the safe the playbook was in....

THIS IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF HOW STUPID OUR FANBASE IS. These are not toss dives you morons, they are toss sweep plays. I know we are scarred from watching our QB's turn around toss the ball and peal back to block the backside defensive end but that is not what we are doing anymore.

I think a big loss for Bama is Eddie Jackson. He was a good Safety and their leader on punt returns and took a few for td's. So not sure who is up next, but they can't be as good as Jackson, at least experience wise.

Now he has to worry about a much more diverse offense that will adapt. It is not going to be easy this time for Saban.

The biggest change is the sequencing of the playcalling and a few different formations. From a strategy standpoint, Alabama will focus on stopping the run as always, and Etling/OL has given him little reason to worry about deep passing plays or longer developing plays.

Make no mistake - what we've done well in the last few games are things Alabama has done well stopping historically. For us to win we'll need our best pass blocking performance of the season and we absolutely have to connect on one on one deep passing plays at a better clip than we've seen thus far. It can be done and I'm cautiously optimistic with two weeks to prepare.

CEO and Ensminger need to look at their own game film, recognize their own tendencies, and game plan away from that. LSU cannot win this game if they don't keep Bama's defense guessing. If their LB's know when to plug gaps, and when to drop into coverage, the game is lost.

which is exactly what they plan of doing this week. O said so himself. it's the major strategical advantage of an off week.

LSU attempted to throw every every Bama game or do you forget the game changing INTs? Saban will play hat on hat with hi FS as always- not reinvent his D lol

this is very true. in the final analysis, LSU has to protect Eting and give him time to run the play. w/o that, nothing else matters. imo, the only way we can win is to establish the passing game. we will need it to set up the run and we will need it to score points.

It must be because you haven't grasped the offense isn't much different

we have not installed a new offense. I agree with that.

but you don't see any difference in play-calling? it's just the same as if les miles was still here?

yes, I understand clearly. you love miles and hate it that this team's offense is better off without him. and you can't admit it, because we "owe" les miles. Got it.

Hey! that's fine with me. I hope les gets another job so you can follow him.

you make some good points, but I think our passing game will give Alabama a little bit more to worry about. we're using all 5 eligible receivers for one thing. in the les miles day, they only had to worry about 3. our intermediate and short passing games are better, AND as to the deep ball - well, I wish we had had more time to work on it. nevertheless, with one on one our guys can get loose. so they will have to watch out for it.

you are right about one thing for sure - their defense will disrupt our offense. we've got to have great blocking and play-calling.

This is correct. The toss play ya'll are talking about ran with Miles was not the play Fournette busted saturday night. That play was an off tackle power toss. Just bc qb tosses ball to rb doesn't make it the "toss dive".

I hope Bama players have the same attitude as their fans.
