I'm pretty sure the amount of unused parking goes hand & hand with the 40$ price tag. Seems there was more parking around the perimeter of campus than before. I can tell you from my point of view, the parking by the Natatorium was about 1/3 of what it used to be. It was disgusting.

I think its safe to say the $40 parking fee idea for the central areas of campus is a failure. There were empty spots all over the place but parking around the perimeter of campus was difficult and probably contributed to the post game traffic mess in some areas. Hopefully LSU will correct the new parking fee (get rid of it).

It always seems traffic is worse when the stadium is empty at halftime. We stayed until the bitter end when there could not have been 5000 left and still sat in traffic.

I saw the team sing the alma mater for the East upper deck where I sit. Walked down the ramps, back to my car and was on the interstate in under 30 minutes. Not sure where your parking/traffic issue was.

I too saw a lot of half empty parking lots and empty tailgating areas.
It's definitely the $40 cost to park your vehicle AND the $50 fee to park your trailer.
A group I know that's tailgated for over 10 years for nearly every game is only tailgating for 3 games this year due to the $90 price tag.
First game of the season is usually packed. LSU's campus will be a ghost town for the Western Kentucky game.

Those that live west of BR were routed south bound on river road in which you had to loop around and pass through LSU again to hit the interstate. That made a lot of sense in bizarro world.

Is the university supposed to know that you live west of BR ?

Why didn't you park on the north side of campus ?

. I left at 0:00. But I don't blame anyone for leaving before half to avoid this shite.

How does leaving early avoid anything? It's not like you are alone on the streets. Leaving early only gets the mess started sooner.

I've "cruised on out" just about every game I've been to with the exception of this one and one other game last year. All I'm asking for is the option to turn left out of the levee lot.

you do have that option dummy. you have to park in the far left lots. they split them up and route them in opposite directions.

you people park where you see empty spots on your way in and give no consideration for how you are going to get out. then when everything is a clusterfrick you blame the cops for your inadequacies in planning on parking a car.

it has nothing to do with getting there earlier, or how much they are charging. find out where the contraflow is directed and then park according to how you want to leave.

whenever i see these threads it is almost a complete guarantee that the people complaining how the system has failed are also the people that complain about les losing the team, the backup always being better, and asking about kelvin shepherd being on kickoffs. you people walk into a 200,000 person event and wonder why things didnt go perfectly your way. just stay home if it bothers you that much. we only have 6 games, enjoy what little you are paying so much for.

small time games bring out the people who only go to one game a year and have no fricking clue about how to get around campus. the season ticket holders (most of them at least) understand where to park and how to leave to go home. the only hold ups are the one timers that didnt realize what contraflow is and hold everything to change lanes at he last minute. apparently the mile long snake of brake lights wasnt a clear enough indication that its not going to napoleonville.

Had absolutely no problem parking or leaving tonight.

Me neither. Took me less than 2 minutes to get out of campus.

Also, any event where you have a high concentration of people, say 92,000, you're going to have issues with everyone leaving. It's something that people need to learn to expect when attending such an event.

I only make a couple games a year... I hope the paid parking stays that way.... I'll be able to park much closer to my spot it sounds like ...

there will be 90K+ fans at the W. KY game.... same as every other game... book it.

I agree it was bad last night. I park in lot "O". Turn right, and not too far to the interstate--took 35 minutes. Usually takes 10-15. I know it's not that much longer, but, when you're driving back to Mobile, any delay hurts. Not sure why the traffic was worse than usual, but it sure did seem that way to me.
Off the subject--all I heard all day was that Alabama has the best defense football has ever seen..gotta love the gumps!

All you have to do is come out on the left side of the levee lots they direct traffic on that side to the left an an the other side to the right
