Penn State, Florida State and now Alabama are reducing stadium capacity. In Alabama's case, more luxury boxes and large video board. Should Tiger Stadium follow suit???

Since we recently expanded the capacity I don't see it in the cards.

yes replace every bench throughout the stadium and go to bigger chairbacks with cup holders like most all mlb and nfl stadiums.

The upper decks will never be completely full again.
Make those seats larger with more comfort.
Maybe add reduced concession prices in the upper decks as well.
Also, make it kid friendly, for every adult ticket you buy, one kid gets in free. That way a family can afford to come and you are marketing to your kids who will be your future season ticket holders.

Me and a buddy talk about this often. Seems like more people are wanting to stay home to watch games every season. Certainly the ticket prices, fees, parking, etc. don't help. Would seem like eventually they'll start turning these stadiums into more luxury style seating/ suites...with food/ drinks included.

But I see that as being more of a professional trend that would start...definitely before the collegiate level.

The problem with college athletics is they want more and more money.
This is college football, not the NFL.
College football was built on those alumni taking their families back to campus to enjoy friends and such. This is not the corporate NFL.

When you make it more expensive to attend the big games and more for parking and more for concessions and telling you how to tailgate and what you can and can't bring or do. They are doing this off the backs of the people that have supported them forever.

At some point, when it gets too expensive people will stop doing it.

10 years ago, Bama and UGA ticket was $50, now it's $125, I guess soon it will be $300

Lol if you think they'll ever un-ring that bell.

I can definitely see them somewhere down the line converting the bench-style bleachers into seat backs throughout out and charging more for each ticket to make up for the loss in capacity.

You can bet your arse they aren't going to make one solitary change to anything involving the gameday experience without properly vetting and studying it to make sure it squeezes as much money out of the fans as possible.

Stadium size got to be a huge dick measuring contest. It was a mistake.

I just think people are tired of shelling out so much money on sports. It is less of a priority for people than it used to be. There is not one magic reason for decline in attendance. There are many. Corporatizing the stadium and adding more seats is not the answer.
