No. Thousands of dollars of renovations to the sound system and it sounds exactly the same.

Sorry that was my dick of the week post

It blows the fillings out of your teeth in the NEZ. If you like that, I guess it's better. Personally, I wish they'd turn it down and let the band play.

When they get the SEZ working will probably be better as both should blend in.

A loud arse rap song whose intro sounded like a horn telling Muslims to pray came on during the game and Hawthorne started freaking out about how loud it was. It was classic Jim.

The entire NEZ was freaking out about that song. It was a sax playing a high note and that particular song was recorded at a higher level than the songs before and after it. It was like hearing guitar feedback for a good solid 30 secs.

I swear, there's just a part of our fan base that will never be pleased no matter what. Before, it was bitching that the sound system sucked. Now, the sound system is too loud. Never satisfied.

The system is great. That's not the problem. The problem was the idiot operating it.

They'll get the kinks worked out I'm sure, at least I would hope.

This. In the SEZ you couldn't hear all the announcements but the I agree that one song sucked. It's much louder and they were testing it

Actually, hard to tell since it is only coming from one endzone....once the other endzone is finished and you have equal sound, it will probably be much better.

This problem could easily be resolved if the Band were allowed to play "NECK"!

It is better, but it comes only from the North end so the Doppler effect for most of the stadium is pretty bad. My hope is when the SEZ renovation is done they can balance it out.

ETA: It isn't truly a Doppler effect, but I'm not sure how to explain the way the waives dissipate across that stadium.

Why don't you talk to your buddies in the student section and see if we can correct that?

Pay attention this Saturday, they do let the band play. The piped in music plays for the 20 seconds or so of "dead air" after the band finishes playing during the tv timeouts. If the tv timeout last 3:30 minutes, and the TGBFTL plays a 2:30 second song, what do you suggest for the left over minute?

When Tiger Stadium is at its best, Geaux Tigers chants or LSU around the stadium. The piped in music kills the crowd in big games.

In 2010 LSU went to Florida to play in the swamp. Most of you remember that game. Florida had turned the tide when Dubose ran a kickoff back for a touchdown (that was the last kickoff return LSU had given up before TCU, incidentally). The crowd was jacked. The stadium was finally loud for the first time all day. After the kickoff to LSU, the game went to a media timeout. The crowd began organically chanting ORANGE and BLUE. It was going to be very difficult for LSU to operate. The stadium operator played Thunder Struck. The crowd was silenced. LSU came out to run its play thereafter to minimal crowd noise. Florida had just killed their home field advantage. LSU went on to win the game.
