Trovon Reed was also associated with this guy but it was the agent from wal-mart who cashed in on him and Gregory Robinson. @ different agents=the same results. Kids without a stable home environment being led away from LSU. Greg Robinsons grandmother wanted him to go to LSU as did Lache's mother. This story is not going to go away. If LSU was putting a lot of money in these agents pockets, they would be playing for the Tigers.Cassius was committed until Lyles got to him. This may implicate UCLA. One thing for sure is, these kids didn't change their minds for free.

The Wal-Mart "agent" was Trovon Reed's mother's boyfriend. He started dating her when Trovon was in the 6th grade up until her death when Trovon was still in high school. That's why Trovon was close with a guy who works in the Wal Mart auto shop - he was his mother's boyfriend of several years and when she died he became like a foster parent.

The real LSU recruiting insiders will confirm this - Nelson had a close relationship with Trovon going back to the sixth grade and there was nothing funny about Trovon picking Auburn - he just liked them better and really wanted to leave the state after his mother died.

Thibideaux is a small town and a small team, so the next year when Greg Robinson was being recruited - Nelson and Trovon naturally wanted him to go to Auburn.

The only reason for the Lyles connection is that supposedly Trovon and Lache Seastrunk became very close friends during a football camp. Lache was obviously in the pocket of Lyles, so that's really the only way the two are linked. Trovon went with Lache and Lyles (and others) on a visit to Oregon mostly because he wanted to hang out with his best buddy. I don't think there's any other connection between Trovon and Lyles.

And this part is rumor, but: Auburn flat dropped Lache during the recruiting process and openly told people that they were no longer recruiting him. (I think LSU did the same btw). Anyway the rumor that circulated from Auburn recruiting insiders was that the reason we dropped him was that (1) he had a street agent and (2) the real problem was not the street agent but the fact that his crazy mother had her hand out and was openly asking for money.

Lyles confession today seems to verify that somewhat (although he himself obviously intended to benefit indirectly through adding a client for his fledling recruiting service). They had to jump through a lot of hurdles to get away from Lache's mom and Lache even signed an affidavit (in order to get permission for someone else to cosign his LOI) saying that his mom was a bad person and was only interested in what she could get out of his recruitment.

It's a sad story. And like I said the information came from some pretty reliable Auburn sources (long before Lache committed to Oregon) and they also said it was sad and screwed up.

Oregon response to allegations....

The University of Oregon did not ask Lyle to do anything other than supply names of players for $25,000 and it does not matter if they did not ask for the names of 2011 Seniors till February after National Signing Day

This argument doesn't hold water. If moms had their say, as you suggest, then Lache would be in Baton Rouge. And also Gregory Robinson would not have gone to Auburn either. Robinson grew up a LSU fan.Don't get butt hurt if your program is being exposed for cheating. Cassius has the Lyles connection and he definitely steered players away from LSU as did his counterpart who was employed by Auburn. Oh, and Wal-mart.

And CLM still rakes in top 5 classes annually. This speaks volumes of his ability to recruit.

Wow the interview just reminded me that Darron Thomas was also committed to the Tigers and ended up in Oregon. Was he connected to Lyles too?

Lyles did make a few phone calls to Chip Kelly before Darron Thomas committed to Oregon but nothing substantial at all to show it was related to Darron

I think what really fricks Kelly and Oregon here is the fact they tried to cover it up. We all saw what this did for Tressel and the Buckeyes.

Lyles didn't even bother to educate himself to the very rules that were going to govern his chosen field.
This says more about this situation then anything else as far as I'm concerned.

Btw, this is the same guy that gave prospective athletes information on NCAA bylaws but forgot to read the same ones governing his trade?

Exactly. He knew enough to know what loopholes were available to get LMJ available and find another guardian to sign off on Lache to go to Oregon, but yet he didn't know what NCAA rules were regarding his involvement/influence in kids going to certain schools? GTFO. He screwed himself there.

I am an LSU grad and I live in Temple Texas. A year or so ago I was standing in line at a local supermarket. The HEB is within walking distance of Temple High School. In front of me were several boys with shirts on reading "Wildcat Football" They had a cart full packages of hot dogs, buns and "fixins". I joked with them and asked "where was the party". One of them turn around and informed me that they were having a "Senior Winnie Roast" after that afternoon's practice. I recognized him to be Lache Seastrunk. I extended my hand and introduced myself. I then joked "I sure hope you choose LSU, You won't regret it". He just smiled and and chuckled "we'll see...maybe". He was a clean cut nice young man. I was very impressed with his politeness. A few days later I mentioned this fact to my next door neighbor. His daughter was a student of Temple High and I was wondering if she may know him. Wayne, my neighbor is a part time Missionary Baptist preacher. He confirmed my belief that Seastrunk was a good kid. I told him I hoped that he would choose LSU and he countered that he not only KNEW the young man but that he knew his mother, grandmother and PASTOR. He informed me that Seastrunk was a church going kid and idolized his pastor, who had a brother who was an assistant coach at Auburn. He also told me that since Larry Porter left LSU, there was little or no chance of him choosing the Tigers. It was a "sure thing" that he was going to be an Auburn War Eagle.
I was pretty surprised when the young man chose Oregon over Auburn. After I heard the news I asked my neighbor what happened. He smiled and said "The Ducks pulled a fast one and sooner or later they will get caught. Shame on them."

As an avid college football fan. I am once again sickened as to how far people will go.

My beloved Tigers have been doing very well the last few years. Living in Texas I always have fun talking smack with all of the arrogant Longhorn Fans. I hear things like "Les Miles is an idiot/fool/joke". I hear how much LSU and the rest of the SEC cheats. I have heard the term "Lousy Anna" so much it makes me want to wretch.

Why do actions of people from University of North Carolina. Ohio State USC and now Oregon always mean that school like LSU are dirty? Give me a freaking break!!!

Thanks for your post, There is another thread going where people are saying that he made the right decision ///////////blah blah blah and are completely ignoring the dirty tactics that Oregon and Auburn are doing. These are only kids, no I don't wish bad for any of them. But to the cheating you know whats that are dealing under the table, I hope they get busted. Too many players that were LSU locks are suddenly changing their minds when certain agents retained by these universities get to them. If it looks like a skunk and smells like a skunk then it must be. We all know that Lyles got 25k on paper. What did the kids get? And how much cash was exchanged on handshakes when he got these kids to visit and then commit?

Man I hate to see this happen to anyone but damn, the ducks are screwed. Where is ducksflyinPAC now?

I was busy taking a nap of all the LSU excitement and dribble of Oregon going down. For all those claiming Chip will be fired, you simply do not have a clue. A head coach could not be more beloved at his school then Big Balls Chip. There is no way in hell he will ever get fired at UO. I would easily bet my house that he retires at UO. He even had a home built for his aging parents to move into and such and house for him. The guy ain't going anywhere.

Chip is also fine because he got our compliance department to sign off on everything. And UO believes they did nothing wrong. If however we did do some procedures wrong, I am sure we will just get a baby slap on the wrist. UO does not have a history of cheating and NCAA major violations and all that such as USC, UA, AU and the rest. As of right now there is no formal investigation of UO yet but they are just investigating "mentors" and "street agents" as a whole right now and looking at many programs and people.

So then, back to our game...
We will be coming with our full team. Well minus 2 guys probably, one for doing stupid shite while drunk, the other for speeding and other stupid shite. If we can keep the annual few stupid cases down, we will be fine. Knowing Chip, I am positive he has our players focused on one thing only, beating LSU. I sure hope LSU is ready for this game because we sure are!

p.s. Did you all see the HBO special a couple of months ago with the former AU players admitting they got PfP? Ya, not only that, they listed some other SEC schools before they signed with AU(and paid to sign)that SEC boosters from other schools such as LSU and Tenn gave them "money handshakes". UO does not do that crap. And in the PAC that stuff is very rare out West. For UO, more often most of our players do not even own a car, they are too poor. You know how Darron Thomas gets home after a game? He walks, no joke. We only messed up a little in recruiting. We do not offer PfP like is common in the SEC. So ya, understatement big time- Pot meet Kettle.

That happens everywhere, you'd be ignorant to think every school is clean. And out West that stuff doesn't happen? The cornerstone of your conference, USC, just got busted big time for shite like this.

Did you not see my words were I said it is very rare(meaning it can and does happen, but very rare to do so). Of course U$C did it. Hello. They were also on probation many times. U$C had a long history of doing it. However, I personally felt they got screwed because it was not the college or boosters paying Bush to join, it was a wanna be NFL agent who paid Bush to LEAVE USC. But ya, USC had previous to that. Hello, I think I know my own Conference teams as we give them hell for it and have so for years. And on top of USC Washington has been dirty in periods of time, and ASU as well. But other then that, I cannot think of any. So of course in our Conference History it has happened out West. But to even remotely compare the PAC to the SEC's level is hilarious. There is dirty and there is SEC level dirty. And the whole country knows it except for SEC fans. The gap is that wide! That is why all of you SEC guys, from every SEC school says, "every program cheats". But the truth is No, not all do. Many many do not do so. However in the SEC its common practice- the whole country knows this already. If however we broke some recruiting rules, we will pay for it. It wont be a major thing as UO has not had problems with the NCAA. UO actually might go completely free because of some big loopholes. But if we do not, and get hit minor, oh well. We will correct it, Chip will fix it and Life goes on.

The NCAA doesn't like being lied too. Chip doesn't own a TV? Ask Tressel and Ohio State what happens to liars. Do you understand that your coach tried to cover up this wrong doing and his agent threw him under the bus? Dude, we are not hating on you guys. Even though more than one on your players were headed to our school before the money started flowing. Where there is smoke there is fire. Feel good knowing that the NCAA has a plate full with limited resources and it will take time to look into all these allegations. But they will. Don't forget that the guy driving 118 in a rental car that we rented by a university employee. With your starting QB in the same car. Good luck on that one too! OOps!

What does Darron Thomas have to do with riding in the same car with Cliff Harris have to do with anything? And speaking about DT, he only did not sign with LSU because Miles decided to tell him he might use him at WR instead of QB. DT only wanted to play QB. There was no money, nothing. If DT had any money then please explain him having no car and having to walk home on the street after football games? Know your facts before you attack.

What I took out of this article is Oregon football runs a loose compliance department either because they don't find it a concern, or they just don't know any better. This Lyles guy just took advantage of that fact and made some bucks off of them. It doesn't sound as if his business was very legitimate and it likely would have sunk anyway. The actual packages he was providing sound pretty shoddy.

Just one quick question. How do you know he doesnt have a car? Yiu say he is poor? Well guess what our whole team is full of dts. They ran this shite about vatech a few years ago. These kids get scholarship money and money for room and board. Ok and a lot of these kids already qualify for some type of welfare. So they rack up money in college and its completely legal. And juat becausa black athlete drives a car doesnt mean he is shady.
