Are we discounting the computer advantage that OSU will likely receive?

CBS projects Alabama to have a computer average of 2.25 and OSU to have one of 2.75 this week. Obviously that would change next week, but it's not like OSU would have a major computer advantage. And it's of course only 1/3 of the BCS.

Well gosh-golly. Just by looking at all the numbers it seems like everybody else in the country is right and Tigerdroppings is wrong. It will be Alabama-LSU. Who would have thunk it?????

No one is wrong about anything. Most people were saying it was possible for okie state to jump alabama. It still is. Most haven't been saying it was definitely going to happen.

It's not like Oklahoma State was going to jump Bama this week with their bye week anyways.

People reacting to these polls like they mean anything for the final poll are stupid.

Let's see what happens after OSU beats Oklahoma.

By saying Okie St. had a chance? What's incorrect about that?

3 Stanford 11-1 2,512
4 Virginia Tech 11-1 2,438
5 Oklahoma State 10-1 2,414

Possibly interesting to note: these 3 appear to already be sharing the 3/4/5 votes, with Stanford getting the most and yet being the team that is idle this Saturday.

If OK State loses, I could see us playing VTech in the title game.

Okie St was it IMO because of their computer ranking. Bama's position is looking pretty rock solid.

IMO, if VaTech takes care of business next week and does it big, and OSU loses, they may jump Bama. I'd imagine right now the human pollsters would do anything they could to make sure a rematch would not happen since they have been so against it in the past.

They were taken to the wire against 4 unranked teams. 14-10 against Duke.

I think Bama is as locked in now as much as their Auburn victory was in the 4th quarter. With Stanford, Okie St, and VT splitting the 3rd place vote (and the geography), there would have to be a distinct effort to put a non-rematch team #2 and Bama #3 or even #4. Okie St is the only one with a computer score good enough to even have a shot.

I meant ironic since they're a tech school. Joke fail.

VT's computer score is a joke, much like their schedule. They won't pass anyone for #2 overall, but they could steal votes in the human polls, including from Bama though they won't want to hear it. Same argument would apply, conf champ, etc etc.

VTs SOS is 50 higher than Stanford. So why do they catch shite and Stanford gets a pass?

That's a far jump for OK State if they beat OU.

they are #2 in the computer programs.

Va Tech gets a win over the only team to beat them, they may move up some too.

with the non Bama votes split three ways, its unlikely Okie Lite or Va Tech pushes Bama aside.

Too bad really. I would rather have played Va Tech or Okie LIte.

Maybe if Va Tech crushes Clem, but no, NC State did that.
