Hyatt took home the SEC receiving triple crown—leading the league in receptions (67), receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. His explosive prowess was on display all season as he led the nation in 30+ yard catches (15), 40+ yard catches (11), 50+ yard catches (7) and 60+ yard catches (5).
Hyatt delivered one of the greatest wide receiver performances in SEC history in a 52-49 win over Alabama as he caught six passes for 207 yards and a school-record and SEC-record-tying five touchdown receptions. He became the first FBS player with five or more receiving touchdowns vs. an AP top five team since NC State's Terry Holt did so vs. No. 3 Florida State on Nov. 8, 1997.
You talking about that guy, Jaylin Hyatt? Of course he won. MHJ did nothing of the sort this year. He just had the right last name. BTW, Nabers had better numbers this year than Hyatt did last year. I'm sure the fact that MHJ didn't get it last year factored in as well.

I wonder how many of these people were throwing a fit when delpit won the Thorpe, with lesser stats than his competition?
Delpit didn’t deserve the award when he won it, and Marvin Harrison Jr didn’t deserve his either. One shitty choice doesn’t magically make another a good one

Sir, there's nothing tangible you can point to as to why MHJ won. Nabers had better numbers. Nabers performed better in meaningful games. Nabers had less mediocre performances. Nabers had more 1st down catches (69) than MHJ total catches (67). Nabers forced 30 missed tackles, to MHJ's 5. Etc., etc.
Where they differ is 1 is the son of MH SR and the other is not. Let's just be honest.

The belitnikoff has never been about raw stats. I don't understand why yall can't come to grasp with that.

They also differ by MHJr, by far, being the biggest weapon on his team, not having a Heisman qb,and not by having a teammate with more td catches.
Look I would've chosen Nabers but MHJr winning it isn't some robbery. I didn't hear anyone claiming Josh Reed stole his belitnikoff when he had 7 rec tds.

Nabers is also a big, strong, physical and willing blocker. Hard to imagine he could have done much more to win this award.
Harrison is good, but Nabers was much better.

Maybe that’s because he led the county and set SEC records in almost every other statistical category? The award is about stats, dumbass. Almost every award winner in every category every year has the most impressive stat line at their position.

Stats aren't the end all be all for belitnikoff. MHjr had an amazing year with a mediocre qb and is literally the most can't miss nfl prospect this year.
Yet Nabors was better. He absolutely deserves the award.
Another subjective choice while ignoring objective data.

You keep saying this, but you fail to grasp that you have yet to provide a valid reason Jr won besides his last name

Justin jefferson didn't lead the 2019 team in tds like BTjr did in 2023. Try to keep up.

That's the valid reason. Leading the nation in rec yards doesn't win the belitnikoff award. I'm sorry you people can't understand that.

I would've chosen Nabers but MHJr winning isn't some robbery. The leading rec yards wr almost never wins the award. We've had guys be 10th in yards and win.
None of these awards are stat awards.

His 4tds really lit the world up. Only 11 short of BTjr.
Nabers teammate was 1st in the country.
Harris Jr teammate wasn't in the top 100.
Nabers teammate was 14th in yards
Harris teammate was 72 in yards.
The supporting cast (what the defense has to key in on) of the players isn't comparable.
