There has only been one recruit that was specifically from Miles. That is Mettenberger. The other two recruits alluded to in the article were Russell and Flynn who played under miles, but were recruited by Saban.
And Mettenberger wasn't committed to LSU out of high school. We lucked out that he got in trouble at Georgia.
Now, I will admit, I think Harris has a chance to be the best Miles QB recruit out of high school that we've had.

I was answering a question that presumed that LSU was not regularly a top 5 program. It is a misguided presumption.
Polls do not particularly interest me. I was only answering a question directed to me.
I understand what you were doing, but preseason polls (which we are all in agreement affect a lot of the placement in regular season polls) are irrelevant. The only polls you should cite while still being intellectually honest about whether they are regularly a top five team, are the final poll after the regular season or the polls post bowl games. Anything else is disingenuous.

Add Perriloux to the great luck Miles has had w/ QB's.
Throw in that none of the High school coaches in the entire state can develop a college QB and u can see how lucky the madhatter really is.

Bingo. And while we won two sec west titles his first three years we will have only one the last seven years. Definitely upward trending right?

Why don't we meet in the middle and realize that Les Miles is 3-5 against Nick Saban, which is, unfortunately, the most impressive record versus Nick Saban that exists.
Some people will, but I prefer to throw out outliers.

But he originally committed to Goergia and was under their tutelage for 1 year plus his Junior college experience. So that doesn't really count. Or if it does, it has a huge asterisk

LSU has lost to Bama 3 consecutive times. Texas A&M, Auburn, Oklahoma and Ole Miss have beaten Alabama in that same span. None of them recruit to the level of LSU, with only Auburn even coming close.
That's just plain wrong.

Why dont we just use the last 5 years or so? Ya know, after the Saban talent left the program.

65-20 2008 on. That is 76.47% Winning percentage. Not bad, but not elite.
He was 34-6 with a majority of Saban players. 85% winning percentage. That is elite.
Look, i'm not gonna sit here and act like Les is a terrible coach. But i'm also not gonna sit here and act like he is one of the great coaches of the his time.

Nothing nice to say about LSU.

Refers to LSU as "we."

I think at the end of the day, most people "negatigers" just want whatever is wrong fixed. I don't think most people want him fired if he isn't the problem.
I will say this though. Something has to change or somebody has to be replaced by someone who can get with the times. We're preparing for most of these teams 2006 versions instead of their new styles in 2014.
The offenses have caught up to the defenses in the SEC with the HUNH and more.
We can say it's lack of experience all we want and we lost so Mett and all other juniors, but even with them we lost 3 games to teams we could have beaten with a decent gameplan.

Correct but when you have people here who can do nothing but spout off miles' record while not addressing the Underachievement's in the hardware category relative tobthe talent here nor the current trend nor the fact his problems over his whole tenure with player and game management, preparation and OTFD are very telling. They love to pump his record now can you imAgine if he woulda won the 8 or 9 he should have to add to that ???? You would think THEY WOULD be the ones pointing that out since they only focus on overall record.
But they don't. Care to know why? Because they don't have enough knowledge or haven't really watched many games or just ignore problems as long as we win Them not accepting whats been laid out proves this. They don't address it because they can't.
I'll even bet plenty have never played organized football. Or that they have ever put thousands upon thousands of dollArs into the athletic programs through long time season tickets and donations.

miles didn't recruit him out of high school. wouldn't have mattered anyways, he was UGA bound.

2011?
2012?
Anthony Jennings (2013 class)
Brandon Harris (2014 class)
sweet jesus that gap from 2007 and 2008 to 2013 is void as shite

Because my point is much, much better and far more informed and reasonable than yours, and literally every comprehensive win-loss statistic supports my position that Les Miles is an elite coach, the most successful in LSU history, and in the middle of one of the 25 greatest coaching tenures in the history of the sport.
No comprehensive win-loss statistics support any contrarian theory.

I think people would be more understanding of the offensive woes if the defense was playing worth a shite.
That is the unacceptable part. Our skill position offensive players are young, fine. But our defense has experience. No excuse, something needs to be done about this defense in the offseason.

Nailed it for me anyway. I never said fire the man, but for fricks sake, please try something different on offense. We ran the spread for an extended period of time in one game (MSST) and it seemed to be productive. I don't care if it was back ups or prevent defense. It sparked the offense which in turn fired up the defense. TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT PLEASE!!!!

I think anyone with a functioning brain understands that LSU was fortunate to win that day in 2007, with much more talent than that Bama team had. I will definitely throw out outliers when I see fit. Its my opinion.
