I grew up with Michael Brooks. No way anyone in Ruston, Baton Rouge, or the NFL wanted a piece of him. When he spoke it was like E.F. Hutton. Brooks would have made one hell of a UFC fighter.

I remember my father telling me about the LSU boxing team in the mid to late 50 being the ncaa champs and a heavy weight boxer named Crow Peele was the best boxer on the team. He said he was very fast and smooth, would knock out other heavy weights boxers without getting a hair out of place.

Spin-off but do y’all remember the bouncer at sports, Zeus was his nickname. Gentle giant who played football at Covington high? His younger brother played at LSU. His nickname was BamBam

You may have George mixed up with Joe. George was huge and intimidating but Joe was the real deal.
I'm not confusing Joe and George. Joe was a wrestler only and his weight class was under 200 lbs. George was a heavyweight.

Michael was a 60' high school shot putter. Toby Caston was close. So were the great Joe Reding and Terry Esthay, but they did not have the LB speed.
