Three seconds is the minimum amount of time required to be on the game clock in order to spike the ball to stop the clock. If one or two seconds remain on the clock, there is only time for the offense to run one more play.

By this rule, LSU won!

But there were 3 seconds left. By the rule you cite, there was no problem

And yet the clock was running, and there were seconds left on it, and the ball was still not snapped

You big dummies should read the whole rule:

quote:

If the clock is stopped with 2 or 1 seconds in a quarter and will start on the Referee’s signal, there is only enough time for 1 more play.

You just proved a point in A&M's favor, or am I reading this wrong?

In order for you to be able to spike the ball, there has to be 3 seconds on the clock when the begins. There were 3 seconds.
