Hell I do not even care, my judgement is you can not go wrong with either. I think it is just the fact this dude wanted opinions people gave them and now he is trashing Ohio State only because they lost to 2 SEC Schools in National Title games.
At least make a valid argument or change your argument don't continue to act like a child and start calling names because people rebuttal you.

I am with you. Being a fan doesn't mean being blind. Objectivity and fanhood don't have to be exclusive from each other. What has happened prior to 2009 shouldn't have anything to do with the program today.

so our past few recruiting classes has nothing to do with the program today?

Recruiting is a part of a program and as established in other thread LSU recruits very well. Yet so does Ohio State and other teams. However when determining the state of programs you look at more than 1 individual game.
If we were looking at it based on head to head games then Ole Miss would be a better program than LSU as they have beaten LSU past couple seasons.

You asked if recruiting classes prior to 2009 had nothing to do with program. In response to Rogers thread where he said
quote:

Yet he was talking about that individual game only as that is what myself and him were discussing.

TCU has had 1 great season and they didn't even win a BCS bowl (against a non-BCS opponent)
they're more of a non-BCS tease program than a fly by night
they have had a lot of hype, but have never lived up to it until last year...and then they failed again
But yet they've been a better program than us over the last two years, and most likely next year as well.

There are not more than 5 teams who are really better than us, if you look at it holistically, in the nation.
If you just separate out the coaching, however, there are about 20 teams that are better than us. Since coaching, recruiting, and the QB are the primary components to building great teams and winning championships, we are missing one leg of the the three legged stool in order to be successful at a high level.
Coaching, and coaching alone, is keeping LSU from being a major powerhouse right now.

yeah, but what can we do about that? we play UF and Alabama every year. two schools that happen to have to 2 best coaches in college football. Miles is a problem. but what's the solution?

My List:
If Going by History (no Particular Order)
Alabama
Oklahoma
Texas
USC
Notre Dame

So I would have LSU in that group, probably right at 10.
If Going by Past 10 Years
1. USC
2. Florida
3. LSU
4. Ohio State
5. Texas
6. Oklahoma
7. Georgia
8. TCU
9. Virginia Tech
10. Oregon
Current (based on, on field success)
1. Alabama

4. Ohio State
5. USC
6. Oregon
7. Penn State
8. Boise State
9. TCU

Well I only put 10, do I wanna push out Tennessee or LSU for Penn State?

I just don't see how you can leave Penn State out of the discussion of top 10 historically great programs. hard to push out Tenn or LSU though.

Inspired by the 'are we a top 10 program' thread
So far I have:
Florida
Bama
Texas
Ohio St (maybe)
USC (maybe)
Penn St (maybe)
Virginia Tech (maybe)
And some of these 'maybe' names are pushing it.
Who else?
At least you acknowledged you were pushing it.
As far as programs go, you never judge them for their overall impact on the college landscape based on a one or two year performance. Based on the decade just completed, LSU is certainly one of the top ten programs in the country and if forced to rank them I'd say they were around 4th or 5th for the decade. Florida, Texas, USC, Oklahoma, and OSU were the only teams comparative with LSU over the decade and I've seen them ranked anywhere from 1st through 6th depending on the ranker. Let's take at look at the numbers. 10 for 10 on winning seasons. 8 for 10 top 25 rankings. 9 for 10 ranked in top 10 during season. 5 for 10 top ten finishes. 2 other times top ten prevented by last minute bowl losses. And the championships speak for themselves. Actually better numbers than some on your list. And of course the overall strength of a program is measured beyond just season rankings. Recruiting, fan support and financial strength also bolster the Tigers in being mentioned as a perennial top ten contender. Heading into a new decade it is reasonable to wonder if the Tigers can maintain their elite status, just as USC and UGA fans are probably wondering. But there is no question that the LSU Tigers are still for the moment considered one of the elite programs in America.

Only reason I left them out is the fact even though they have more wins than LSU/UT they have less Championship's.
Penn State Claims 2- 82/86
LSU Claims 3- 58/03/07
UT Claims- 6- 38/40/50/51/67/98

It is impossible to name 9 football programs better than us today:
1) On any given day, we would have a good chance of defeating any team listed in the first post.
2) We have had top10 recruiting classes nearly every year of this decade (although we lost a lot of signees in the 2005 and 2006 signing years).
3) Our program is insanely successful financially. The FB program contributed $10M to the general fund of the U. last year.
4) We've won as many NC as anyone else in the past 10 years.
5) About the only down side of the program is that our coaching staff is very bad, which has had a lot to do with the past two terrible seasons. Most of this can be attributed to stubbornness and bad decisions by the head coach (e.g., co-D coordinators and retaining Crowton).
You can now proceed to pounce!

And like all of yours, I'll debunk this one too. If OSU's top recruiting classes were such a big deal, why did they get pistol whipped vs SEC teams in big games? And please don't give us the 'we had a bad day' story again. It's pathetic.
Are you really this stupid? The first class were freshman against LSU and the second class has never played any SEC team.
What's pathetic is your attempt to make an argument. You just spout the same thing over and over with no facts to back your assertion.

Not sure which 5, looking at Wiki and CFB Data Base are only listing 2.
