I'm making perfect sense. You are the one stuck on the one thing that doesn't mean anything. Big stage games are NC games, other BCS bowl games and conference championships in my opinion. LSU is 2-0, 2-0 and 3-1 in these. If you think playing a top 10 team is the only measure then I disagree with you again. An SEC team may be ranked #11 but the game may decide the SEC West and the fortunes of both teams. This to me is a bigger game than say OSU playing a top 10 team in the Big 10 which is an inferior conference. Get it?

I do see. Big games for LSU only count to you in seasons in which LSU is good. The 0-12 in the games you didn't mention against top 10 teams don't count at all and Ohio State beating a top 10 team easily that beat LSU in a bowl game doesn't count because in your esteemed opinion our conference isn't good.

Thanks so much for clearing that up for me.

An OSU fan talking about winning 'big games' is what makes me

An SEC championship determines the eventual national champion. A 'big game' in the big 10 and big 12 just determines who is about to get curb stomped by said SEC team. But go ahead and live in your world of delusion. I hope it's nice over there.

Wait, so is the question 9 better programs in their current state or 9 programs that had a better season in 2009?

I can think of only a handful of the former, but about 15 in the latter. Who really cares? 2010 is just around the corner, and the young bucks that weren't ready to play this year or didn't have enough talent to justify them playing over the upperclassmen with more experience will be ready.

USC(not even maybe)
Texas
Florida
Alabama
Oklahoma
Ohio state
Ga Tech
Oregon (on its way to being a power)
Penn State
Va Tech
Boise State
Ole Piss (beaten us 2 straight head to head and in record.)
And after next year the list grows. Look at the two deep, no experience on defense, and we still have Crowton on off. This team struggles to win 9.

Yeah, I don't get why a NCG is the only big stage game, either. I remember the 2008 UF-LSU game being a big stage game. I believe LSU was #2 and UF was #4 (could be wrong, of course), and LSU got their asses handed to them (worse than we did in the NCG against UF). This year, Florida was another big game. They lost that one, too. I'd say, while the Cap One isn't a huge game, it's still a pretty big game (likely the biggest non-BCS bowl), and they lost that one, also.

There are plenty of big college games throughout the season. You're telling me LSU has only had two big games in the history of their program? That is ridiculous. I've been to 6 LSU games in the last three seasons (none of them were the title game). I'm not an LSU alum and I got the perception those were big games.

Go to a Michigan-Ohio State game, go to a Texas-Oklahoma game and tell me those aren't big games. Especially in college football where winning every game is almost a necessity you have many big games. Both Ohio State and LSU have had their good times and bad times with big opponents the past decade.

Also consider the magnitude of a game mostly matters to the fans and alum of the schools involved. A Texas fan would rather watch their game with OU more than any game an SEC team will ever play. An Ohio State fan cares more about their game with Michigan than they ever will about an SEC game.

LSU is deff better than ohio state. yall play in a weak confrence. you said yall beat penn state , who beat lsu. yall lost to USC. which was a terrible team. the media love ohio state thats yall are all ways ranked so high. Any LSU didnt have that bad of a season. we barley lost to the number 1 and 2 team in the counrty . then our coach lost us the ole miss game. we would have prolly beat penn state had we not played in a slop pit. that field totally nuetrlized our speed advantage over penn state. any way lsu would prolly beat ohio state in a good field.

"Media loves Ohio State"

LOL....Nobody has been treated worse by the media the last 4 years then Ohio State. What rock have you been living under? The public bashing of Ohio State and the Big Ten has been pretty well documented. They try to make us feel bad for rooting for Ohio State and the Big Ten. Its pathetic. Reece Davis, Mark May, Trev Alberts, Jesse Palmer, Lee Corso and the list goes on and on. Ohio State haters are just that...haters!! The Big Ten being weak argument holds NO WATER this past season. The Big Ten was the ONLY conference that finished with 3 teams in the top 10. The Big Ten was the ONLY conference to have 4 bowl wins against top 15 opponents. That says something. Yes, Alabama was the best team in the country this year, but that in NO WAY means that LSU is better then Ohio State today. Why cant people realize that Ohio is a top 5 high school football state and will ALWAYS be in the conversation? Some of the ignorance spewed by SEC homers is beyond annoying.

Oh and just for the record, Ohio State, Penn St, Iowa and Wisconsin were ALL better then LSU this year. Thats right, 4 slow unathletic Big Ten teams.

Hard to argue that when many of the fans want their coach gone. Last I checked Ohio State won the Rose Bowl and LSU lost the Capitol One Bowl.

yall play in a weak confrence.

so all the SEC programs are in better shape than OSU? Ohio State has a better shot of winning their conference and getting to the title game next year than LSU does. I remember the days of people saying getting through the SEC regular season undefeated is impossible because its too tough, too competitive. Three times it has happened in the last two seasons. I think overall the SEC is better but the Big Ten isnt weak.

Ohio State haters are just that...haters

Or Michigan fans

I would have to agree with this only because we have to play SEC teams. You know the toughest conference in the country that has won the BCS 4 years in a row. DUH.

Yeah thats what I meant. My point was that Ohio State is the best team in the Big Ten and can gain national attention by being better than their opponents. Unfortunately the athletic director and fans at LSU won't care about all that if LSU does not contend for an SEC title. Right now Ohio State has a more stable coaching situation and a better chance to win their conference. This is not a conference debate question. LSU is an outstanding program with great talent. But right now Ohio State is in better shape to contend for a BCS title.

if ohio state and lsu played today lsu would win. we played penn state on a shite field and would have destroyed them on a good field. ohio state can't beat usc , so how are they in better chance to go to the nc . they lost to a terrible usc team , and not to mention purdue. i guess they are great to. lmao ,lost to usc and purdue

Ohio State does not play LSU next season. That is completely irrelevant who would win between the two since they are not scheduled to played. They play Miami (FL) and some weak OOC opponents. I think they get Penn State at home. You cant go off a hypothetical schedule. I am saying from Ohio States actual schedule and the state of their program they have a better shot to make the BCS title game. Who received more national recognition this year? Ohio State for winning their conference and winning the Rose Bowl or LSU from getting third place? College football is not some pee wee league sport where they give second place a trophy and everyone is all happy.

Again I am not saying LSU is in shambles. They are a great program but so is Ohio State and Ohio State is in better shape to make a run.
