Good point, and we beat them by almost the same score they beat us earlier.

I don't think there has been much change in LSU/Bama's capabilities since 11/5, LSU's passing game remains very pedestrian.
JJ is going to start. That's a BIG change.
Yes, LSU's passing game is not such a much. Less than with JL, IMO.
But the running will be much better.

THat saying sucks. The winning team also learns from the game as well as the losers. No one has an advantage except for the WINNER of the 1st.
You always have the upper hand mentally when you have gone to someone's house and ate their food and slept with their woman.
THink like a young cocky man. Our guys know they can take whatever ALA throws at em. There will be no letdown in the NC game.
We were better then and we are better now. And too bad about there F'ing kickers, they are part of the team and Sabam recruited them.
Field position wins these type of games and we are WAY WAY better at playing that game. It's ours to lose, wuit letting the wimps creep doubt into your head with overthought posts!

30-18 after the BCSCG!

The good news is that LSU is 3-0 in same season rematches over the last decade-plus..wins over 1997 Notre, 2001 Tenn, and 2003 UGA.
1-0 vs Saban in bowl games(MSU 1995 Indy Bowl)..2-1 vs Saban in La(the loss in OT).

It seems like some of you forgot about LSU defeating uga twice... once in red stick and again in the georgia dome for the secc.......

It is interesting that the example in the article was a blow out in the first game and the same team still won by double digits in the rematch. I think it is difficult for two closely matched teams for one team to win both games. That is what we have here. Alabama isn’t scared of us because we won the first time. They are going to be pissed.

First game LSU was superflat in the middle of a SEC race and ND was on a bad losing streak. Bowl game obviously a month away is a totally different game. I mean it's the only game to think about for a whole month. ND was getting beat by everybody, you think they really could just push us around like that any other day?

I think this time with the NC being on the line, it prevents Bama from gaining the psychological edge of being the team with something to prove.
I agree and actually think LSU will have the "something to prove" mentality because we won the first game but keep hearing Saban and his players and most media types say they gave it to us. Our guys go into this game KNOWING they can (and did) beat Bama at their house.
I think Bama will feel the majority of the pressure coming into this game and as the game clock counts down and LSU continues to lean on and punish them they will start having little seeds of doubt springing up in the back of their minds making them wonder if they really did out play LSU and were the better team the first time or maybe just maybe Saban and all of the Bama lovers on TV and Radio were just plain wrong and this LSU team has something special that no other team they have played against has - they just will not allow themselves or their teammates to lose!
Then for the first time this year Bama and everyone watching will be forced to acknowledge the obvious (something most of us have known for a while now) that not only was LSU the better team on Nov 5th but that they were the best college football team in the country from the very first game till the very last game of the 2011-2012 season!!! And as the whole college football world is watching LSU lift the crystal football up into a sea of purple and gold confetti it will start to sink in that this team may very well be one of the best college football teams ever...........and then it will dawn on those smart enough to realize it but this team returns all but a few of the unbelievable playmakers that have dominated every team thrown at them and will be EVEN BETTER next year!!! God how great will it feel come about 11pm January 9th - I can't freaking stand the wait.

After being up early UT had no business losing that game as they had the better athletes.
More experienced athletes maybe. But Saban's #1 ranked recruiting class, Clayton, Spears, Hill and company made that an outstanding team by the second half of the season. BTW I was at that game and it was obvious that the Vols had a goal of knocking Davie out of the contest. Be careful what you ask for is what they learned that night.

To help save the Sugar Bowl, LSU consented to play the rematch game against Ole Miss. That game totally deflated LSU, and Ole Miss won the game 21-0. That game was the only shellacking handed LSU in that two-year period of time. That was in 1959, a rematch which LSU lost after beating Ole Miss in the 1st game .

True. But I like the fcat that JJ has 5 weeks to work on it, catch his breath, and even though the 'tards have the same amount of time to anticipate it, I believe we'll see an effective play-action passing game if we can just establish a credible running game early. In November, we didn't run it very well early, an undertatement, so play-action by Lee/Jefferson was ineffective. With the time to prepare, Coach Miles will have those kinks worked out. I like our chances with him having that much time to prepare over Saban with the same amount of time...if you know what I mean. Tigers.
