My take on the Ole Miss game

Strip away all of the emotions and let’s just look at facts. LSU’s defense allowed 24 points last year to Ole Miss. I believe this defense is much better but for the sake of argument let’s give them 24. I believe as long as Leavitt is safe with the ball this offense has shown it can put up more than 24 points especially with how Ole Miss defense has looked in the 3 and 4 th quarter. Weather the emotions of the beginning of the game and play smart and we win. Look as LSU fans we know better than anyone how much hate and emotions can fuel a team. We screamed at the top of our lungs and built up the Bama games for years believing that we could “hate” our way to victory. Truth was Bama was just better had better coaching and as much as fans can help with the game, it’s played on the field. LSU is the better team and will win Saturday as long as we play smart. Just my 2 cents.

Your 2 cents is worth a lot more. Upvote!

While I agree, I’d give up one of our linebackers for a Mansoor Delane

Good point but I like this defensive line’s ability to generates pressure and give less time, so I’ll take the trade off but you are right a big loss that can not be understated.

I hope I’m not, I hope PJ comes out and locks shite down, and Pickett has that “hey I’m here game”. They will have there opportunities sat night. And your right that pressure we generate will for sure help them.

When you look at the last game for each team, which were both inferior opponents, and some numbers... I think LSU wins by double digits.
Leavitt has a horrible passing game and Chambliss had a near perfect game (23/26 passing), but overall LSU had 528 total yds and OM had 426. As for the defense, LSU gave up a mere 140 total yds and OM surrendered 322.
Yes, they have to keep all emotions under control but that goes both ways. You have to expect the OM wants this game just as bad, just so they can scream.... "we don't need Kiffin" so i would expect their emotions to be higher and this being a home game for them.

I'm just going to play devils advocate here and lets ponder.
I'm not 100% sure that the offensive beast Ole Miss was last year was in it's final form whenever we played them. Wasn't Chambliss pretty fresh still from other dude getting benched? They were starting an upward trend when we played them.
Would they have still only scored 24 on LSU had we played them in November?

I'd go out on a limb and say that LA Tech is a tougher opponent than Charlotte. That is something to consider as well.

True, but we were fortunate to only allow 24 points. Facts, they fumbled on our 1. They could have scored at the end but kneed it. It was Chambliss' second start. This will be a battle.

It’s true.

That’s fair and to that I would say but that Defense under Pete Golfing with Prince and Dottery (their lead tackler) gave up 19 to LSU. While we are only on game 3 I think it’s safe to say this offense can muster up more than 19 points.

This year, maybe so but since everyone likes to think history has anything to do with the present.... here's where those two programs are, historically.
2022: Charlotte 26, Louisiana Tech 21 (at Charlotte, NC)
2021: Louisiana Tech 42, Charlotte 32 (at Ruston, LA)

31-28. Ole Miss star kicker misses FG to go into OT

I think I said that.

This LSU Defense is far superior compared to the past few seasons as is its Offense . Would be hard pressed to say the same for Ole Miss, either side of the ball
Ole Miss wins with 3 LSU turnovers
LSU wins fairly handily if they play clean

Kiffin taking same approach as saban. Business as usual...OM on the other hand has their entire administration and coaches all emotional. I like it.

Get back to fundamental football like week 1 and we win

Well Prince U just posted his prediction on X. 42-21 LSU. Don’t know how to link.
