The games were always on the radio and the radio was always on in the house when I was a kid but I guess my first memory was from New Years Day 1966 and watching the LSU Arkansas Cotton Bowl on the black and white television.

The first game I ever went to was later that year in the 1966 season.
LSU 10
Miami 8

1964, LSU and Bama. Bart Starr was the QB. We lost. My cousin was married to all American LSU player so we had great seats.

My 1st memorable game is 1970 Orange Bowl against Nebraska, I remember Ronnie Estay and Tommy Casanova being called out all the time. I think we played in the Bluebonnet Bowl the next year against Tennessee. Don't know why we would play another SEC team in a bowl game.

The flood of the century, unfortunately we lost to either Miami or Florida St. best vivid memories I have. Oh and stayed until the end , The worst was the first game I took my wife to, I told her she was going to freak out at the noise, it was the early 80’s against miss st JOHN F’ing Bond was QB ! The quietest I’ve ever heard Tiger Stadium !

Bart Starr played for the gumps in the early 50's and was quaterbacking the Packers in '64. You're likely thinking of Namath.
