They are the QBs of the OL. They need to make audibles and calls on the fly and Lonergan just doesnt have that vision or ability right now.

Yeah, and La tech severely confused him. I know they were giving a lot of exotic looks but you don't think Saban does that?

The fact is, probably about 70% protection busts are on the center. It's not Ciron Black's fault when he takes a DE and a blitzing LBer comes buzzing around him and there's no one there to pick him up. That's a bad protection call.

There's a nice large contingent of folks who hate to see out of states kids come and play for LSU.

Idiots..... all of them!

Simple as that.

LSU should sign 85 - 95 % of the blue chippers from LA and as many out of state top 10 atheles from other states as it can.

Anyone who thinks other wise is simply, SIMPLE
minded!

You do realize that most of these negative posts are coming from a bunch of punks who are not even LSU fans. They are just a bunch of attention whores who try to wreak havoc on this board. And are very successful. Why would a true LSU fan have anything negative to way about any of it's players. I remember when T-Bob was being recruited. He was one of the highest ranked centers in his entire recruiting and was considered a must get. He did well playing through an injury that he was still recovering from. I expect to see a vast improvement in line play this year.

My dream line would be for the coach to throw every position on the line up for grabs. No position should be safe. That is what Les is gonna do IMO. His butt is on the line I think he will play the best players. Hopefully no more Lyle Hitt/Hurst scenarios where players who are outplaying upperclassmen have to split time because of loyalty. Lyle struggled last year and Hebert did too. Hitt/Hebert were pushed around more than a few times. If you are hurt (Hebert) then have someone else play, unless your sub is weaker than you.

My line this spring would start with...

LT. Shaw
LG Blackwell
C. T-Bob/Lonergan split time
RG Hurst
RT. Barksdale

Dworaczyk as a back up utility guy cross trained at guard and tackle and Faulk as 1st backup at LT or RT if Shaw or even Barksdale don't step it up.

This would give us 2 maulers at guard rather than a couple 280 lbers. LSU got pushed all over the field b/c they were 280 from guard to guard. That crap might work if you are the Broncos, but not anyone else.

Why would you rotate centers?

I want an open competition again at center.

If Tbob can hold off Lonergan that's fine.

I'm not so sure Lonergan wasn't physically the better player last fall, particularly with Tbobs injury. Had Lonergan been given 1st team PT he may well have called as good of a game too.

I'm not for either...I just want improved center play, and best chance is to let them battle it out again in spring.
