LSU jax: Good post and I completely agree! Especially with this point right there:

quote:

And of course, the true dagger is that sonofabitch in Tuscaloosa having that program humming along like a fricking MACHINE, just destroying teams, while we wallow around, playing down to Furman and losing to a depleted fricking Ole Miss. There is no fricking excuse for that bullshite!!!
. We are who we are under Miles. 2nd rate. He will not change and he cannot get better.

if the les miles fans had their way we would still have mallveto and we would be in early 90s era level already. They of course are the good fans because they dont voice complaints.

Been a die hart LSU fan since the Hallman days. Seen the major ups and downs of this program. With SEC becoming even more dominating each year, it's unexceptable for LSU to be coached like they have been when every year you play multiple top 25 teams.

Agreed.

We should concentrate on Florida as well. Their team this year is a few notches below the norm for them. However, as long as CLM is in BR, this style of play will continue.

Exactly. Funny thing is I texted a friend yesterday pretty much saying what I stated in this thread. In my text I said exactly what you said. "2nd rate".

I think Les Miles is a GREAT person

I agree with most of your post but why do LSU fans continually make this statement?

The reputation that Miles earned during his time at Michigan, Colorado, Dallas and Oklahoma State does not support this. Not at all. Not personally or professionally.

I accepted a few years ago that he was completely braindead when it comes to time management and someone needs to help him with this. Perhaps a child who plays Madden a lot.

But it did take me a while to accept that he has an accurate label and that's the way it is. Miles is an excellent recruiter and with LSU's program we are almost guaranteed 8 or 9 wins a year just by "out talenting" teams. Then there are 4 or so that you actually have to really work at and we seem to lose 3 of those a year.

Bama 2010 and tOSU 2007(8) remain Miles' crowning achievements IMO. There is no reason to think we can't beat Bama some years and win the SEC and therefore have a shot at the 4 team playoff that is upcoming. As long as Saban is coaching at Bama, we will be their bitch most of the time.

I still think he is probably the third best coach in the country. It goes Saban, Urban Meyer, then about 10 coaches could go into that #3 slot.

I've done this before. Conceded a game. LSU almost always surprises me when I do.

Yes, Miles is a really good person and that's what one his problems is. Seeing him so calm on the sideline sometimes pisses me off. He is so conservative with everything.

Well he certainly is not regarded as an a-hole or a douchebag so he hasn't earned the opposite reputation either.

I'm basing what I said on the many accounts I've read and heard of his interactions with fans and his actions as a father and family man. There may be stories to the contrary but you make it sound like the man is some kind of raging a-hole and everyone knows it. Not buying that at all.

The whole key to the LSU monster is our instate recruiting. If the wall is up we are unstoppable, and saban knows that and he is chipping away. First it is a kid we dont want to get his foot back in the door and now we are in battles with him for kids that should be 100 percent tigers.

I think the florida pipeline will remain open for a long time because of PP7. He just started up a football camp and that is a major tool to push LSU considering he is a LSU guy and most of the guys that will be helping him with it are LSU people. If we ever replace miles the new coach as to make sure we keep PP7 and dont let him become a bitter alum for a period of time.

What are you talking about, we are doing a better job of it than ever. Percentages of top La recruits coming to LSU is at an all time high.

I swear folks just repeat everything they hear.

And I agree 100%. In spite of my post, I have no doubt that if Miles and Saban both remain where they are for a good while still, we WILL definitely knock them off some. And those will be GREAT days. Come Saturday the 9th, I'll be PRIMED for an upset. Hopefully, we'll get it.

ETA: The crappy thing is, it just appears we are relegated to playing like shite a number of times a season, and having to hang our hats on "upsetting" Alabama. I'd rather be dominant right along with them and knock each other off on a year to year basis.

the big wall we have around LA recruits really pokes holes in the les miles fans theory that LSU will return to the hallman days.

They fail to realize the difference in LSU of today and LSU in the early 90s.

1. our talent was being raided from all sides. (this is close to happening with saban right now)
2. our suckage in the 90s was based off a bad hire.
3. the bad hire happened because we were a cheap arse program at that time.
4. we are no longer a cheap program and we have a very big extremely powerful TAF that loves nothing more than winning titles.

LSU might return to the late 80s and early 90s suck at some point but we wont be there long with the way the TAF operates.

being steamrolled in tuscaloosa and losing a nail biter to aggy at home will mark a new low for miles. curious to see how our fanbase deals with that. i hope i'm wrong, but this team doesn't have the experience, chemistry, or discipline to win those two games.

having to start over on offense next year while alabama is doing the same will be telling. i think that the separation will only widen at that point. and we're pretty much set up to drop some games to other teams in the conference over the next two years as well. we will not sniff another chance at an sec championship for a while, folks. the thought of winning another national championship under miles is laughable at this point.
