Baby was not better than

I am much surprised that no one has mentioned Stanley Roberts.

Roberts attended Lower Richland High School in Hopkins, where he led his team to two straight state championships, was a Parade first-team All-American his senior year, and considered a top five player nationally, holding his own against Alonzo Mourning in the Dapper Dan and McDonald's All-Star Games.
Subsequently, he played collegiately at Louisiana State University, teaming up in his second (and last) season with Shaquille O'Neal.

He was a 1st round draft pick and played over 14 years in Pro Basketball.......

El Tigre, Jose Vargas, was and is one my favorite players of all time. He's a testament to what hard work and perseverance can do for a person. But, he doesn't deserve to be on the All-LSU team.

ESPN had a contest where they played the all time teams of various schools against each other in a fictional tournament, with UCLA being the top seed, UNC being #2, and LSU was #3. Their all time LSU team, was Shaq at center, Petit and Macklin at fowards, and CJ and Pistol at guards.

ESPN all time tournament

With people voting to see which team would advance, my buddy, cheated a little so LSU would beat out UNC in the final four. ESPN caught on, and threw the results out, and declared UNC the winner.

If I were assembling an All-Star team on line up's you would have to stick 6'9" SF Jerry Renolds in there to compensate for the defensive liability of having Chris Jackson and Pistol-Petel in the back-court. He didn't need the ball to play, and his length and athleticism made him a disruptive force on the peremiter.

And although Maklin and Davis warrant first-team placement; I wouldn't want them in there with Shaq clogging up the lane; I'd go with high-flyer, high-motor Tyrus Thomas for despite not having played at LSU for long; when he did play; he played hard!

randy livingston over ethan martin??? Where is Howard carter, Rudy Macklin, dwayne scales, or even ricky blanton? John Williams was one of the finest players ever at LSU, and he didn't make your list. I think there is some further review needed.

This... from an old school guy...

Ok we taking off Livingston adding Macklin. Taking off Maurice Carter and adding Williams. Ronald Dupre and Clarence Ceaser in as alternates. Who coaches the team is the next question? I say Daddy Dale

Any all-time LSU basketball team of mine has Ethan Martin at point. Pete and CJ can play off guard or spell him. They'll get their minutes and E will get them the ball.

Throw in Shaq, Rudy and Petit in the front court.

That's pretty obvious...But had Stanley Roberts & John Williams not been so lazy, they could have both been stud b-ball players in the NBA.

To the guy who said Pete and Chris Jackson couldn't play together. bullshite!! Pete would have loved to play with Chris. Can you imagine him dishing off passes to a streaking Chris for fast break after fast break. Plus with two great outside shooters, it is unlikely that they would both have an off night at the same time.

Has Vernal Singleton cracked this list yet? He is top 15 at least and what about Taz Mitchell, he sure meant a lot during some down years.

After the Pete and Press era, Dale Brown sat down and charted all the Maravich field goals - calculating distance from the basket. Had the 3 point line existed back then, Maravich would have averaged 57 points per game.
