2006 was awesome!!! Our RB's were dinged up and LM still played them. If he rests them at Auburn, we win the BCS!!!

That pass interference play vs AU that year still pisses me off...

This team will completely skull-frick everyone on the schedule.

It will happen. It will be a terrible tour-de-force the likes of which college football has never seen before.

This team is head and shoulders above the rest of the country and I firmly believe that. They are fast, strong, smart and fricking pissed.

I see blood... lots and lots of blood in the future.

Therold Simon is going to have a big say in how good the DBackfield is...if he can get anywhere close to filling Claiborne's shoes, I think this could be one of the best ever.

This years RB's I think will be the best ever with Hilliard, Hill, and Ford back there.

Best RB ever at LSU was Dalton Hilliard!

The key difference will be the most important position on the the field, the QB. If we have someone can keep people from stacking the box because he's an actual threat, I think the 2012 edition would be much better.
The potential is there. Also, I think LSU's schedule last season was much more difficult than this season. If Mettenberger and his receivers get rolling, this could be a really big year for y'all. Only one team in the SEC has the talent to stop LSU, and even then it's a matter of "Will they?"

I am no LSU fan, but I do love CF and LSU will be a LOT of fun to watch this season.

Edit: Most talented LSU teams I can recall are the 2006 team and the 2011 team. 2012 might be better than both.

Which one are you referring to? There were MULTIPlE muggings that went uncalled. I can think of three right off the bat.

but technically last year's team had the same qb.. so idk.. haha. but yes this team is beast.

No it didn't. Players change from year to year and, presumably, get better. Take DLine for example. if everything was static you'd say we're replacing Brockers with someone inferior, so we'll be worse. But Logan, Sam and Mingo will all be better than last year. I think our DLine will be improved.

Hard to beat the 1982 defense. I think every defensive starter made an NFL team roster.

Very true, but absolutely NO depth!

Ware is easily comparable.... So is Hilliard

No sir. Just no. Cecil was better than all but a handful of backs I've ever seen.

Marshal Faulk, Adrian Peterson, Hershal Walker, Bo Jackson, Eric Dickerson, probably a couple more I can't remember. He was better than some guys who are in the NFL HOF.

Watch how much more Rushing yards he will rack up after Mett spreads out the defenses more. Kinda difficult to gain alot with 7 or 8 in the box almost every play.

No one is going to spread out their defense against LSU. The Tigers will remain a smash mouth offense.

Tharold will do fine. Even I could play corner behind this front seven, and I'm a 50 year old man.

I don't think Hilliard is great yet, he just seems slow coming out of the backfield

I forgot to throw in Herb Tyler to that 97' backfield.

Anyone who says any of the currents backs are as good or better than Collins and Faulk are probably younger than 25.

People forget Collins started over Faulk and was averaging like 8.2 yards per carry. He had nearly 1000 yards in I think only 4.5 games. Insane numbers.

We all know how talented Cecil was regardless if he only played 4 games, he made an NFL roster. Rondell Mealey and Kendall Cleveland have done more than Hill, Magee, and Hilliard to this point.
