There were way too many depressing losses in 2020 and 2021..........Mizzou 2020 tops my list.

He's talking "Myles Brennen," not Les.

UCLA this year.

When we lost to Miss State, I thought, "well maybe the Pirate is going places"

When we lost to Mizzou, I thought, "It's tough to lose like that, but maybe that Harry Potter is a solid coach. Maybe Mizzou is better than we thought..."

It eventually sunk in that the team just plain stunk, but at the time, there was still more than a little denial.

I had so much irrational hope going into the UCLA game. I wanted to believe so badly that the previous year had been an aberration and that most of the glaring issues would be fixed. When they clearly weren't, it was incredibly depressing, especially after spending a week out of my home and without power despite evacuating (didn't get far enough away).

Still not as depressing at 2012 NCG against Bama & then again every year 2013-2018.

Losing Miles sent the program downward that day. The dirty hits and the fact that it should have been a home game all come into play.

Good points!

For me, it was Alabama this season, but I must admit your choice is quite arguable for the reasons you've mentioned. The defense and the offensive line were not good enough to win a championship or the division, but neither season is .500 if Myles had remained healthy.
