So, you're giving 2008 back to Miles? (To paraphrase a great Tiger "fan", losing RP was the WHOLE key dumbass).

NO cause the offense put enouh points up to win games. They avg 31 ppg. I don't think RP could have done any bettter. Cause LEE DID throw some pick 6's But that ALONE did NOT cost LSU any game .

People can argue all they want on this, but anyone in here comparing Miles as even close to being in the same league as Saban as a coach has to be either retarded or brain-damaged.

I hate Saban, but the man is a top 3 coach in college football. PERIOD. Miles is not even top 25 IMO.

That said, 03 is more impressive. People can claim we lost to an 8-5 I believe UF team, but reality is that we lots to 2 teams with the same records in 07, OT or not that were less talented as a whole to that 03 UF team.

Even worse is that we couldn't stop a 1-trick pony in Arkansas to the tune of 50 points. I don't care if a bunch came in OT or not.

In the end, LSU had more talent (depth-wise) in 07 and the schedules are not that different, despite the VT game.

People forget that the SEC was very down in 2007 compared and 2008 compared to previous years. We not only lost 2 games in 2007, but even struggled to win 4 more games against average/mediocre competition including Auburn, Alabama, Florida had Tebow, but no defense yet we struggled to score 28 points and needed 5 4th down conversions, and Tennessee. tOSU in the championship was a honestly a joke. They got there only because they played in the weakest BCS conference that was utter garbage.

In the end, both were great, but anyone who puts 07 over 03 is either just still pissed off at Saban or trying to prop up Miles.

Do you not agree that Bama won the 2008 game by less than 7 points?

OK!! You are right. throwing a pick 6 against the best team in the country at the time was a reason for LSU to lose.

But.. if the game had played out exactly the same way, just without that pick 6, LSU would have...beaten.....the.....best....team....in the...country? With Miles coaching? Umpossible!

Its hard to say. You never know how a game may go, if its whether something that HAPPENED DIDN'T. Bottom Line is that the LSU OFFENSE was better in 2008 than in 2009. That scares me going into THIS YEAR.

I felt more comfy in the 4th in '07 than '03 MNC for sure.
I'd like Fox to do a What If on the '03 vs '07 and settle the shite so it dies. It's all good.

Personally, I think this has more to do with who playing QB than who was on the sidelines.

FAIR. BUT Mauck set the record for most Td passes in a season in 03. The 07 offense was better IMO. But the difference in D's was HUGE. AND the way LSU dominated foes after the lost to FLA is uncomparable.

In '03, it was like OU was taking charge toward the end or maybe it was Saban Prevent O.
After 1stq in '07, I new OSU couldn't stay with LSU. It'd be interesting between the 2 Champs and edge would go to '07 imo.
Might deserve it's own thread, but I gotta go. Likely it's been covered by germans anyway.
