Since this thread is 8 pages long I am sure that this has been said but you must be freakin kidding to even compare the two championships. Miles backed into the Nat. Champ game and Saban went out and earned it.

The 03 team had to count on some teams losing on the Final saturday to get in the title game as well. Just sayin.

Saban era = Swagga / Discipline
Miles era = Confusion / More Confusion

I guess you could say I am not a Miles fan to say the least.

I agree. Many posters are missing the point on this (and most are in the Sabanista camp) - there is a valid comparison between the teams, and both teams had a loss or losses and needed help to get into the game. If we recall, it was brutally close between LSU and USC in the final BCS of 2003, 1/6 of a point. The formula changed by 2007, but, by comparison, we were twice as close to tOSU, than VT was to us in the final BCS.

ETA - another reminder - LSU had wins (one dominant) over the #1, #3, #12, #16, and #23 team in the final BCS poll in 2007 (but lost to two unranked teams). 2003 scored wins over #1, #12(x2) and #19 and lost to #15.

He (Miles) has done some incredible things in the past but he is no longer the gunslinger that he used to be. Not firing Crowton last year and saving that task for this year was complete chix shite IMO. It gives the appearence that he is only looking for a way to keep his own job a little longer by using Crowton as a scape goat. But yes he has done some great things since he has been here. They are just becoming fewer and far between.

How many variations of a Saban Miles thread can we make?

It has been OVER 7 YEARS since Saban was on LSUs sideline right, shite like this is just plain stupid and pathetic (and has been for quite a while).

I do applaud the passive-agressive approach though

The reason there are so many is that it's a volatile issue which strikes a nerve with the fanbase. There's also a case to be made that the coach we got doesn't measure up to the coach we had and the coach we had coaches at our main rival. Also that our coach hasn't done with his recruits what the previous one did with his. All of this boils up into the perfect storm for internet chatter and discussion, it's seems quite logical to me, although it is repetitive.

Bottomline is some people can't get over a guy that left 6 years ago and who doesn't give a shite about LSU. They're like a 20 something year old chick still whining about the guy that popped her cherry. get the frick over it.

I am over him. He has gone on to other things. Thanks NICK for what you did here[ The program would NOT be where it is now without what you did]. SEE YA. We have a coach now who I am not impressed with the last two years for sure. I hope he turns it around for all of the LSU fans out there. If he doesn't do it THIS year His arse needs to be GONE. IMO.

You see it as someone who "can't get over it", others see it as a legitimate football discussion. Perhaps because you take the discussion so personally is one of the reasons it continues to go on and on. People can make their points then the conversation is over, it's a message board, "get the frick over it".

I'm sick and tired of hearing this. Unless you start the season off as 1 or 2, then in essence you 'back' your way into the National Championship. Saban lost a game that season to a pretty down Zook coached Florida team and had to count on other teams losing in order to move up to #2 just as Miles did in '07. I really do think some people think, unlike God himself, Saban wouldn't have needed Day 7 to rest after creating the world.

Talking about the same topic for 7 years is the antithesis of logical

I dont disagree with you at all as to WHY it still goes on. I just dont get how some can still be so passionate on a topic that really is not relevant AT ALL.

Im not contributing the page count anymore, good luck to all; im sure you will get that closure sometime in the next 7 years. You guys realize you will NEVER convince the opposite party of anything right? The words "youre right" will never be typed in a Saban Miles argument thread.

you know better than this.

im not talking about the message board...im talking about people that refuse to let it go. Im intelligent enough to understand the nuances of a message board...thanks.

Oh...and the day i start taking any "discussion" on here personally is the day i suck on the business end of a 12 gauge.
