This is the finals of the CWS. Poche, Lange, and Gilbert all go on 3 days rest.

Why? It's the championship and he'll have 5 days rest. Play to win.

If you know me, quit being passive aggressive. Call me out.

He's not going to start Peterson, Beck, Norman in game 1 of the championship. You and I both know it

Why are we saving Lange for game 3,

Say what you want about Mainieri, but he isn't going to do anything to put Lange's future in jeopardy. If he thinks pitching Lange on 3 days rest isn't safe, He won't do it.

This isn't a video game my boy.

And LSU isn't a team that will abuse the shite out of pitchers.

It is highly unlikely that on such short rest that our pitchers (Lange especially) are effective.

Monday would be 4 days rest for Poche

I dont know shite, especially when CPM said he was unsure right now.

If Lange is absolutely not throwing until Wednesday (again, dont know if this is the case or not), then you have to start Peterson/Bain in one of the two anyway. Why not give Poche the extra day of rest in that case?

Because then you're basically conceding a 1-0 hole. I get it. Those guys MAY be able to win. But if they weren't good enough to start against Grambling they aren't all of a sudden good enough to pitch game one of the finals. I think it'll be Poche game 1. Win then it's Wholestaff. Lose and it's Lange

If CPM thinks Lange CAN go Tuesday if needed, then yes. If Lange is shut down until Wednesday, no matter what, then its makes zero sense to throw Poche on Monday.

Its not because Peterson or Bain will be good enough or not to start. It will be a necessity at this point.

1. Lange- unavailable Monday, available Tuesday?
2. Walker - unavailable every day
3. Poche- available Monday??, certainly available Tuesday.
4- Gilbert- wouldn't be possibly available till Wednesday.

5- next up???? Peterson? Bain?

Only way you get away without throwing Peterson/Bain is if you go Poche, Lange, Gilbert....but even in that case you will likely depend heavily on those guys because the pitchers would be on such short rest.

You could go Poche, Hess, Lange. But that leaves a thin bullpen.

Glad UF is having to throw Faedo tonight in case we get them. Honestly not sure what TCU would have. I know they've played an extra game and aren't as deep

Well I doubt any team will be down to having to use a "5th starter." Not much we can do about it, after losing Monday and Walker getting injured.

We just will have to hope that either:

1. Poche is going up against someone else's #3 at least and takes care of business.

2. Our entire staff is going up against someone else's #3 and can we can keep up at the plate and with our pitching. Might take another herculean performance from somebody though.
