I'm not worried about the defense whatsoever. We may have some depth issues in the secondary, but our front 7 should be fantastic, which should take pressure off the secondary. If one of the QBs steps up (sounds like a broken record, but I digress), we will be fine. I'm hopeful Burrow is as good as advertised. I honestly do think our RBs are a little underrated. I've never been too impressed with Brossette, always seems to run tentatively, but CEH I think will be more than serviceable as well as the new guys coming in.

He has absolutely said this very often dated back for a number of years.
He's said this is the strongest, I know, a bit different, team he's had.. for at least 2 of the past 4 years.
He absolutely said it entering Miles' final season.

a lot of people have said this ITT, but I've yet to see a link to any article or sound clip where Moffitt has and certainly not "every season"
I do know he said something similar about the 2011 team, and I think he was right Miles, Orgeron, and other coaches have made similar types of comments (just like most coaches), but not Moffitt to my knowledge

That's why I was actually careful with my wording and said every other year and I also said "type of stuff"
Condition is not the same as strongest. My whole point is I don't put too much stock into it because he's constantly praising our guys as strongest. I actually think I like the term conditioned better than just being the strongest.
I'll see if I feel like searching and linking some of the past years. I know 100% from memory, Miles' last season he said this was the strongest LSU team he's been around.. and I know a time before he said the same statement.
Honestly though, it may be true in his opinion.. that team was a very veteran team.. but the praise didn't mean much once the season started.

What’s even more telling, is that he is completely honest about how great the conditioning is for this group, but immediately follows with saying strength wise they are about where they need to be. Not once did he say this is his strongest team. If anything it sounds like they have somewhere to go in the weight room. But that’s a lie too I’m sure.

That was arguabably the most talented team Miles had too. So its Believable. Despite the record

Exactly why I didn't say every season. It's definitely not every season. I can recall 3 times since 2011.
I shouldn't have even worded it as all the time. I agree with you.
And he was certainly right about 2011, so it's definitely not as often as it's made out to be.. I was just let down last time he said it for the 2016 season. I actually was praising LSU before that season started with other people who were working on the NCAA rosters with me @ Operation Sports that year.. I quoted Moffitt saying that team was by far the strongest team they ever had under his tenor.. and I agreed with him because it was such a veteran team.

I’m a pretty realistic fan , honestly I feel this defense is going to be something special. I think it will be our best defense since 2011. I doubt it will be quite as good as that year but if burrows ends up being a player we could be in contention this year.
