If she was some fat bitch with crooked teeth, no one would be supporting this.
No one would be crying about it either.. No one would give it the time of the day. Maybe just maybe people realize she is actual a pretty good kicker; who knows.. but really what does it matter. If she is good enough she will make it. It's just a tryout..

I guess you are also for women on the front line in the military?
shes trying out to kick field goals, not shoot hajjis, douchebag.
eta: to answer your asinine question: if a woman completes the same set of tests and standards i see no reason she cant shoot all the hajjis she wants.

who's the douche, I respect women and you don't. Your such a dufus.
For what it's worth I support womens sports at LSU in 3 different sports. But that doesn't mean I think women should play mens sports or vice versa.

I am all for women being able to play on men's teams if they are good enough If men can play on women's teams if they are good enough

I can even go as far as to say women can compete with men in non contact sports. Why doesn't everything that men do be politically correct. Somethings are meant for men and some things are meant for women. It's not being discriminating to either.

its kicking a fg man, not tackling trent richardson.
besides, if shes good she will be fine. if shes not she will just bow out. she isnt that attention whore from colorado.

I hope she makes it and kicks a game winning field goal vs Bama, the gumps couldn't ever live it down

I'd enjoy it even more if she kicked off to Eddie Lacy and she pummels him to the turf like a little teddy bear. On the next LSU possession Mo kicks a field goal to go up 31-0 and Saban drowns himself in the Gatorade cooler. That would make my day. GO MO

No, not even close to my philosophy. I think women are a gift from God. My mom being the greatest gift of all. My mom played sports in high school. All state in basketball in Fla. She loves sports but she would never want to play football with men. She did say once that if girls wanted to play football maybe they could have a girls football team. Sounds like maybe you would think she don't respect women either.

I'll bet you're the type of guy who keeps his 200 lb. 15 yr-old in the 8th grade just so he can plow over kids half his size and rack up trophies.
It's completely asinine to ask a woman to compete at a lower level of competition simply because she is a woman. Nobody doubts the brute strength that men have over women. But if there were an outlier who can compete with the men, she should have the chance if she chooses.
Why is it anybody's duty to protect the all-male tradition of the game? Why do some men feel that it't their duty to define the role of all women in culture? If it doesn't tread on your liberty, step aside and let ALL people lead the life they want to lead! Why is this such a difficult concept for some people?

The people here saying she would never make the team are saying so because of her sex. Look, a six foot person is a six foot person, whether male or female. The strength will be the same. In the videos I've seen of her competing with guys on the football team in kicking contests, she was just as large or larger than Brad Wing. Wing, you see, ran in a fake punt for a touchdown, and I suspect she could, too ( I'm supposing now a fake off a field goal attempt.) I also think she's large enough to body tackle someone at the ankles returning a kickoff. What soccer players can do to a ball with their feet can be extraordinary; think about onside kicks. Another thing to think of is a fake kick (field goal, if that's what we're talking of)--however shocked a defensive team is by that play they would be more so if a woman carried the ball.

Is she trying out as a kicker?

I usually respect other people's opinions but this thread contains some really horrible logic and some really disturbed people.
First, she is being given a tryout. If she cannot perform, she won't make the team.
Second, she is not going to play even if she makes the team. She will be a third or fourth string walk-on. The most she might do is an extra point attempt in a 50 point blowout of Towson. And you know what, we'll actually get to see a highlight on ESPN, instead of ignoring that game because it is ignorable.
Third, this is one of the better ambassadors for our university. So even if you are a chauvinist pig, show a little respect.
Fourth, best I can gather, the players actually support this. It's only washed up ex-high school players who are bitter with wireless internet and a keyboard who seem bent out of shape about this.
Fifth, if you are honestly upset about this situation, back away from the computer and engage in some self-reflection. The economy, crazy Iranians, LSU basketball...things worth getting pissed about. Mo Isom...not worth getting pissed about.
P.S., it will never happen but if we happen to be beating Bama by 20+ and score late in the fourth, it would be priceless to have Mo kick the extra point and "Brad Wing" Saban.

this thread is almost as bad as the ones where random redneck_LSUfan003 calls black athletes "thugs" for getting into a bar fight or something minor. you know they mean something other then thug but are afraid to say it.
