Kinda, but not really. Football isn't defined as a men's sport.

I know the first thing I would do after being humiliated by an arch-rival in a BCS Title game would be to cause a huge distraction during Spring football by trying out the Homecoming Queen as a field goal kicker.. Do you people take football seriously down there?

Only kidding.. Give her a shot, no harm, no foul..

So then we should be able to add another men's sport @ LSU. That way we have equal opportunites for men and women + one sport that both can play. Otherwise men now have 1 less.

if its a coed sport then it shouldnt penalize other mens sports from existing. it sure isnt eliminating women's sports.

I wonder what people would say IF 1)she ever got in a game and 2)ever got JACKED up and got hurt? Say she goes in to kick off(she's good at that) she is fair game to get popped. Some 6'3" 245lb guy jacks her up. That hit would not be treated like a normal hit, people would claim foul. I'm all for her trying out, but she has to be treated just like any other player in every way.

I linked you to the NCAA site which has football listed as a men's sport

It is treated as a men's sport for scholarship purposes and quotas

Surely you believ a man can play college softball

I don't think it is.

But LSU was compliant with Title IX up to this date then they had equal opportunities for male and female athletes.

Now they are not compliant if females have the opportunity to play another scholarship sport. No matter what it is.
