Personally, I'd like to see a girl run the fake field goal for a TD against Bama to win it in Tiger Stadium.

I asked this earlier bap, if women can make the football team then why do those numbers count towards the title ix total? Women are apparently eligible to play football if good enough...

This is a bad idea for so many reasons.
1) from what I've seen, she's not qualified.
2) if she's improved and can kick, she straight up does not have the upper body strength to tackle. Don't know about her speed.
3) if she gets smoked, we'll NEVER hear the end of that.
4) I have no idea what Les will and won't do anymore. He kind of has a recent habit of playing people to boost their self esteem, if you know what I mean.
5) in case everyone forgot, we just frickig lost the national championship to Bama. We didn't even show up. This year should be 100% business. Gimmicky shite like this can only detract from the focus. Why even risk it?

Mo seems pretty cool, but I only want her stepping on that field if she can kick, run, hit, and take hits just as well as the male kickers. Furthermore, I want it in writing that there will be absolutely no repercussions if somebody legally cleans her clock in a game. Finally, I want her off the team the second she becomes a distraction to players by being cool and hot. We have a title to win this year. That comes before any decision to have a feel good ESPN 30 for 30 style story. If it can be done and it is good for the team, then have at it. I just have serious doubts.

Just don't want to hear any commentary about how maybe rules should be changed concerning hits on kickers if they're female. Figure of speech, man. I obviously don't want a contract.

These are all excellent reasons.

I've thought about it some more, and I don't want her trying out at all. It only will be a distraction for a team that needs focus this year.

I guess all of his fancy "reasoning" was more persuasive than my manly and self-evident "football is for men".

Yeah, about that:

quote:

La. Civ. Code art. 2004
Any clause is null that, in advance, excludes or limits the liability of one party for intentional or gross fault that causes damage to the other party.

Any clause is null that, in advance, excludes or limits the liability of one party for causing physical injury to the other party.

This is not legal advice in any way.

It's one of those volatile situations where the payoff is mere entertainment value and the potential detriments could be fairly significant and incredibly annoying. This logic will obviously not appeal to anyone who believes that all football is only mere entertainment. I want to see business this year, not a harrowing, heartwarming tale of female kicker with a heart of gold.

I saw it. Just trying to spread some knowledge. If you don't care to know that, that's on you, governor.

Also, I checked my book of idioms, that is not a figure of speech of which I'm familiar.

I think this is a lack of judgement on the coaching staff for letting her do this honestly.

But they have to be politically correct I guess?

Haha yeah, I'm in law school. Appreciate the gesture, though.

Oh, an BTW, I reasonably believed that you were my lawyer before your edit. I waived liability for physical injury and need some help now. I'll stop by your office at around 2.

Unfortunately, that phrase was in there before the edit. The edit was to put a paragraph break in the quote box. I will be sending you Exhibits A and B which are screen caps of the relevant times. I apologize for any confusion on your end
