Seriously, I think I have heard she is one of the very best trainers in the business. All kidding aside.

I was thinking the same thing. We told the women watching the game with us what the trainer was doing and they could not believe it and walked out of the room. We said this was normal practice.

eta: I have the utmost respect for our trainers. Very fortunate to have them. However, this comment made me literally lol. Can totally see that situation.

women trainers for a college football team = not a good idea

Really? Shelly is one of the most respected trainers in college athletics. Not just in football mind you, in all of college athletics. You laugh at her rubbing down a players leg muscles after a great play, but you don't mention her out on the field supporting Craig Loston's head during the scary moments after the hard hit when we didn't know if he was seriously injured or worse. You don't mention the long hours that she (and the other training staff) spends away from her family and friends to ensure that the boys we root for so ardently are ready to play physically and emotionally.

I have the pleasure of knowing all three of our head trainers and I can say with all honesty that I cannot imagine a group of more professional, competent and dedicated people. Sure, the angle on the video was cause for a snicker, but to come on here and belittle the job that our training staff does by stating having women trainers is a bad idea shows a complete lack of respect and knowledge. Go ahead and laugh at the video, but please keep in mind that the person you are watching, and the rest of the staff along with her, are outstanding at their jobs and LSU Football is only in a position of national prominence because of the hard work and dedication of the many support staff working behind the scenes to keep our team in shape.
