Looks like the Padres are that team this year taking our recruits

He's already lowered his k rate this year from 34% to 25%. Scouts know what they are getting with JJ but apparently you dont

What? Yeah if he pulls a Cags and lowers his K rate by an additional 10%, he could go higher in the draft. Not really rocket science.

I dont think they do.

He strikes out a lot but less than last year. is that going to level out or continue to improve.

His BA made a decent jump in SEC play if he did that again and lowered his Ks the. he’s not only showing better numbers but now he has 2 season where he made a decent improvement

I know you want him back badly but it's making you stupid. You apparently don't watch MLB

Exactly. Say he comes back and has an absurd year. .350/.485/.800 with 30 HR and a 15% K rate. Those numbers, by the way, are not at all unattainable.

If he does that, he's a second round pick.

Padres are saving money elsewhere. Unfortunately Fountain, like anyone drafted in the first 10 rounds, is gone.

what do you think he agreed to? Slot value is $445. have to assume he gets more. I dont get kids skipping college to take 750k.

the average age of an MOb rookie is 24. you’re gonna work for 5-6 years on that bonus and a small salary. Thats not “oh I gotta go pro money”

But they still selected him. Usually means they’ve agreed. 99% gone

the only guy drafted in the first 10 last year to not sign just got drafted about 5 rounds higher.

Literally. Last year it was 1. Previous two, it was three.

Just wondering if we can count on that now with the NIL vs previous years. Just more wishful thinking.
