Friendly reminder that if an LSU player is selected this late in the draft it doesn't mean they've already agreed to a deal.

Really excited that it looks like William Patrick will most likely make it to campus. Reminds me a lot of Mikie Mahtook.

This seems silly, but it's a big risk to go straight to the draft. Most of these guys fail, and when you do and you didn't have a degree to fall back on, you might end up a 27 year old high school graduate with a large gap in relevant work history. If I had a son and they offer him 8 million dollars, I think you have to take it. But, otherwise there is still a lot of security in a college degree. Even if you want to work in and around baseball, connection to a high profile program can be a big help. I am not saying most of our HS guys drafted won't go, because trust me they're going. But it is a risk.
If a high school kid gets drafted, they get money that doesn’t count towards a signing bonus that goes towards a college education

Believe it or not, some guys take classes in season or during the offseason. Not all of them, but there are guys out there that capitalize on their situation

when will we know who will make it to campus and who signs?

obviously I know guys like Anderson, Eyanson, Frey, Jones, Shores, Mayers, Dickinson, and Hernandez are gone and most of the recruits are too

but what about the fringe guys

I wouldn't say most of the recruits are gone. we had 2 already drop out of the draft and we have 2 juco guys that aren't any risk and about 5 more that aren't going to get drafted.

we have 10 that haven't been drafted yet and seven that have. its getting to the point where if they haven't went yet then they probably won't because teams know their number and know they can't reach it .
everyone thats been drafted is gone though or they wouldn't have been drafted, most likely.

I can't wait to see who comes back and if any of the other drafted HS kids decide to go the college route.

Are you aware that the draft is over? You’re talking like there’s more to go…
