Seems to me their relationship has been pretty solid this whole season

yea, but there are 25 rounds left.

his draft stock was never high enough for him to have to say "im coming back to LSU".

That was at the beginning of April. A whole lot has changed since then if you haven't noticed.

I know what you mean but these rounds really are interchangeable. A flyer in the 12th can be as good or valuable as a flyer in the 25th.

the team is playing better so he hates the coach a little less? how does that work?

Draft stock is like beauty - it's all in the eye of the beholder. Maybe his assessment of what he's worth or what it would take to leave LSU is different than yours.

If you don't think winning is a powerful thing, I don't know what to tell you. There was a mutual respect that developed both ways. No doubt he's happier than what he was.

Fwiw, Ole Miss looks like they'll get two Top 80 guys to campus. A catcher and a pitcher.

Im not even talking about what it would take it leave LSU.

He was never a highly thought of draft prospect in the MLB's eyes, which is why he was always going to come back to school, regardless if he hated the coach or not.

He's been on the top 500 lists (and climbing) since last summer. Higher than most of the guys taken in the last 5 rounds or so.

Kramer reminds me a lot of Raph Rhymes this season as far as his draft stock goes.

Which means he'll likely return his final year and improve his stock.

Raph went from 34 to 14 coming back for his senior season. Mason went from undrafted to 4th. Austin Nola went from late 20s to 5th. Another season definitely couldn't hurt especially since he's not hurting for cash.

i don't hate the comparison. i feel like kramer fights his arse off at the plate. he's patient, yet doesn't strike out, can hit the ball to all fields. i just don't think he squares the ball up enough. like i don't see him drive balls a lot. he just finds holes or gets balls to drop in, and he's a smart player.

he likely wouldn't play short at the next level. nothing against kramer, he's a great college player. but i really don't see too much upside in pro ball.

You can laugh all you want. At the time, he didn't want to be around longer than he had to. I put a number on it. It's a BS number but so is everyone's on every player.

so in the area where it would make you "not so highly thought of"?

this is purgatory for a fringe prospect like him, and exactly where he was expected to go

He has no reason to tell a MLB team that he is coming back to LSU.

I greatly enjoy how in one thread we can be at each others throats, then in the next we're agreeing. Winning does a lot for all parties involved. As the season went on mainieri's support for Kramer increased as Kramer started having fun. He said he would have signed for nothing at the beginning of the season, now (after abysmal April) he would really have a tough decision because he's loving every minute of this. So yes things change. I hated my basketball coach but winning a state championship softened the disdain a bit. It's human nature. Lester you act like everyone but you is incorrect but you end up sounding like an idiot.

If that's what you classify a top 250 prospect, sure.

No one does. But they do. HS kids. College kids.

he'll go higher than Raph with another good season next year, but i see your point.

Robertson does have some things going for him. He can play either middle inf position. He isn't a blazer, but he is faster than the average pro player. He doesnt strike out. His problem is, he just doesnt have an elite tool yet, and that is what you need to see a MLB bench. His body frame and lack of strength is a huge knock against him.

but he can carve a niche, kinda like Darwin Barney has if he can become an elite defender. It's a long shot, but its his only shot.
