Peterson's response regarding what the offense is planning to do about the passing game: " "

I think that pretty much sums it up.

I believe they will be forced to make more pass attempts as the competition stiffens. I'm just not sure that we're going to be very good at it.

My hope is that the running game continues to improve and that we can continue to win games by passing 15-20 time a game. I think we're good enough to win most of our games using that very formula, even if the passing game remains mediocre.

The day will come when a team with a defensive backfield will put 9 in the box and dare us to pass. Thats when it will be game over for the team with no pass game.

seems everyone from the QB to the All-American CB are mystified w/ the playcalling. Only Miles is dumb enough to think coddling your QB vs the weaker part of the schedule will prepare him for the real tests down the line a year after he led the worst offense in over a decade

I am gonna agree with some of this. JJ should be opening it up in the weak part of the schedule. You don't want to have to find out what your QB can do in the meat of the schedule.

Coddling? Really?!?!

It's not unreasonable to think that the coach might not want to expose his QB after the QB's worst game of his career.

He is a JR.

Time to join the rest of college football and play to your level.

Just another one of Miles' life's mysteries. Or maybe one of the Wizards brilliant schemes.

Id just like to hear something come out of JJ's mouth that would lead me to begin to believe in him.
Just one thing.

You will likely have to wait a good while.

Hmm....I don't really need to hear anything from JJ to believe in him. His problem is confidence and he isn't getting it from the current offensive schemes. JJ should have been allowed to open it up against some weaker competition, early. If LSU needs to come from behind I think they will be in a world of hurt to be honest.

So true. Just another thing that some on here don't seem to think about in all of their mumblings of 11-1 or 10-2 being able to beat every team because they are all down this year except bama As you said if by chance we get down 14 or more because of numerous things that could happen how do JJ, Miles, and Crowton suddenly just "open it up" and expect everything to come out fine during the meat of the schedule when it has not been done against the weaker teams yet.

miles does not like to throw the football PERIOD. This is not the first time we have had 3 first round/5 star/bad arse awesome receivers, and did nothing but try to establish the run. I remember several times, are top pick qb handing it off up the middle, up the middle, up the middle, again, again and again. All the while the 3 first round receivers just block i guess.

It is mystifyingly mind boggling.

I mean, you do know that JJ can throw the ball right?

This is my concern. Why not air it out against weaker opponents to give the O and JJ confidnce.

No, I talked to a much more educated person today that said the same thing. He was serious too. For the record, I'm pretty sure he exactly jack shite about football.

And we complain about coaches throwing players under the bus? He just threw his coaches under the bus. The same ones trying to cover his rear.

How did you draw that conclusion?

I guess that it's news to some that the coaches call the plays. Preposterous that he would out them though.

Basically saying we have the horse to win the race but our coaches keep them in the gate.
