We have a top teir winning program. When the chips fall right we are in a nat championship game. If you can't appreciate that then you are a douche. I don't get why most if y'all take it so personal. I love LSU, I had great years there, and I want them to have a program that I can be proud of. We have that. I'm not at practice or in the film room to even pretend that I know a fraction if football compared to our staff. So I enjoy the wins and if we lose my life is not crushed.

Enough 5-star recruits will make a difference in any team. 5-star players are those who are ready from Day one. Peterson, Reid, Mingo were 5-star. Mathieu likely would have been if he had been 6 feet 185 lbs.
Case in point, according to Rivals, Alabama has 1 5-star and 14 4 stars; LSU has 0 5-star and 9 4-stars.
They already have 15 commits. Now once 5-star guys like D'Shawn Hand start committing, some of the lower commits obviously become expendable. It's a nice way to be able to recruit. But no can blame them for being in that position.

someone who thinks that LSU deserves better than Miles
the problem is who the hell IS better than miles. your list is not whom i would agree with. saban, NOW, yes. but kelly got busted for cheating and he NEVER WON THE NC. in fact, miles beat kelly convincingly. meyer may be better but i think meyer sans tebow was not better than miles and i would call him equal to miles. jumbo fisher better than miles? how in the hell do you conclude that? i surmise you selected him in YOUR hall of fame because he has a great team THIS YEAR.
lastly, i completely disagree with your view of college football in the state of florida. florida state has a better tradition of winning than uf and the reason fsu is better now is that fisher was able to take advantage of meyers "personal nose dive" and win the florida recruiting wars. one could be just as accurate by saying that florida is only elite when florida state is down.
in summary, i doubt is LSU fans could come close to agreeing who would be a better hire if miles left now. sure, some would kill for saban (sadly i may not be exagerating) but most would start naming jon gruden, tony dungy, and others that aren't obtainable. strange how g patterson and the cincinatti guy(now notre dame) and the boise state coach have disappeared from the lsu fan radar.

Did you really just reference a baseball championship in little league. Everyone has done that, and you were in little league for 4 years. Held back?
So you never excelled in anything really. Always getting Beat out at some level.

$4.5 Million should never guarantee you 2 loses a year. If you want to keep Miles then take some of the salary away based on wins and losses. I am tired of hearing LSU is in the red and ticket prices may go up. I pay enough for what I am not getting, Bowl wins or SEC Championship wins. You have payed a coach over 30 million dollars in 9 years for 2 great season. The same coach, that after 9 years, still has poor game management skills. But hey, the team wanted to win, they just didn't play to win last week or the first half against FURMAN. After every game you get coherent answers at every press conference correct?

we should have held on to him? are you fricking serious? SABAN left LSU! you sound like a little titty baby that didn't get his way.
blaming LSU for saban going to the pros is insane. but go ahead; rewrite history so it aligns with your own reality.

So you really just need a discount. Ok, I understand now.

Hey you asked a-hole. Little league is from 10 years old to 15 years old in my parish idiot.

NCAA compliance really is the other factor here that is mentioned but not heavily considered. You don't want a coach who will leave the team in shambles because he was willing to break the rules to compete.
Some people can handle the heat of the position, but others will break rules to keep up and put the program at risk.

10-15? I can imagine the competition posed to a HS kid by and elementary student.
I am glad you dominated.
If we could just get Miles a crack at a Jr high team, you could relate.

I guess we LSU fans should be happy where we are because you LA-Monroe fans would love to have half the wins LSU has correct??

Saban turned his back on you the second a prettier show pony came along.
What's funny is the fan base wasn't much different on Saban than they are Miles when he was here. Plenty of people thought Saban wasn't the right guy for the job...too smug, was always gonna lose one game a year he shouldn't, didn't know how to manage his QBs...

I am glad you pulled away from the main subject to try to beat me down personally. You must be a democrat, voted for Obama did we? Can't beat me on the truth of the subject so must make personal jabs to feel better about your self. Just awesome. Why don't you go watch your Water Ski team and leave the big boy sports to us LSU fans.

The problem is the offense is now running through the QB as the result of actually having a passing attack. If the QB is not 100% healthy, then you have to deal with the consequences of that. If the QB is not mentally into it 100%, you have to deal with the consequences of that. QB performance can be directly tied to the problems the last 3 weeks. That is not Miles' fault. Giving them a chance to still win by taking a T.O. with 26 seconds left was his fault. Being in that position, though, was not.

You are right, I shouldn't, it's just the nonsense and the double standard that just aggravate the shite out of me. My apologies.

David Shaw - perfect SEC style coach. Tough defense play action football. You're an idiot if you think he's not an improvement on Mr Magoo
Kevin Sumlin -did great things at Houston. Has a kid in Manziel that was not highly recruited playing well as well as others like Mike Evans. Exciting young coach. Again you're an idiot
Chris Peterson - I guess you know more about "big time" football than all the other programs that have been calling this guy the last 5 years
Kirby Smart - again exciting you. Coach with a good pedigree
Charlie Strong - perfect SEC fit.
Gary Patterson - gave us a hell of a time this year. Has to recruit against 3 other state schools and does well. Got a small program into the big twelve and good bowls. Would be an improvement on the moron again
James Franklin - I'm not the only one who thinks this guy is top notch. Does more with less than anyone. Bright mind and players love him. I'd take him over Miles in a heart beat.
I could go on all day. My point is to say hat there's no one out there is just a defeatist attitude and willingness to settle for mediocrity. I don't dislike Miles as a person, I just don't like him as the head coach of LSU who I love.

Posted on 10/27/13 at 1:26 pm to Fabius
cant win them all and if you want lsu to win them all then maybe lsu should go to another conference.
