I am not a huge Les supporter right now, but this is a perfectly reasonable explanation. I think some of you just criticise everything he says because of your feelings about him and not based on what he actually says.

harris got his one shot. on the road. at auburn. at night.

he only led the team to one TD... like jennings did against ole miss, alabama, and arkansas...

oh wait, LSU was shut out against arkansas and harris didn't even take one snap. nevermind.

From 2010-2013 he had 4 down years. Should he have been fired? Does 4 years do this argument justice?

Texas was awful in every facet of the team during that span. That's a totally different circumstance.

I'll give you that if LSU went through a four year period like that, then we should fire everybody. But this is a different situation.

in that situation, yes...because their recruiting was shite, they play in a weak conference, players were running a muck and he wasn't even going to bowl games. totally different that the state of lsu right now.

we had a losing record in the SEC in 08 and not much better in 09, only to go 11-2 and 13-1 the next 2 years. Do i wish the offense was different? sure, but we have a shite QB that nobody in the world could win 10 games with. I give Cam the benefit of the doubt because of 2013 to see what he does this year w/ harris

Well yeah, LF was "ripping off runs" and then, per usual, Les quits using him.

I'm sick of Miles's "RB by committee approach" because there is no rhyme or reason to it.

As I said on another thread, our offense should be as "conservative" and productive as the Dallas Cowboys'.

There, DeMarco Murray is the workhorse. Joseph Randle will spell him for an occasional series and be effective, but their offensive versatility is such, that even with simple formations with little motion, their passing opens up the running game.

Les HAS to do something about this shite-show offense.

Part of it is making sure his feature back doesn't disappear just as he is getting limbered and lathered up and can really do some damage.

Lee was great for 8 games. I blame les for completely abandoning him for JJ at the end. But we did have a good QB for the majority of that season.

russell - didn't recruit
flynn - didn't recruit
mett - transferred from juco

so what QB has he recruited out of highschool that he's trusted to throw?

I would say that the LSU 2014 year is pretty comparable.

I will admit that LSU only had one comparable season to Mack's last four, if you admit that LSU needs to see improvement next year, which Cauble was simply asking Miles about how these hires are going to help improve the team.

Though there is truth to the passing inefficiency, this type of seat of the pants arrogance is what bothers me about Coach Miles.

I will be flabegasted if his passing attack is more than a periodic diversion.

Demarco became the workhorse THIS YEAR ONLY. His contract year.

Previous years the other backs got significant carries.

This is what killed me about last season. Like someone else posted earlier...

Jennings accounted for 11 TDs
Harris accounted for 9 TDs with only 1 fricking start!

I am sure that anyone with half a brain knows who should have been the starter.

he wasn't great but he was the most efficient QB in the SEC up until alabama. I don't think he should have been permabenched for throwing 2 int's though. just silly.

you will see this year, Harris is Cam's first qb recruit and any of you who thinks a true freshman Harris could be successful in the SEC need to be on medication

I can't believe that Miles is all feisty about a reporter actually asking a legit question. 7 of 14 passing in the bowl game? Is that the actual numbers? That has to be the lowest passes attempted by any team in the entire bowl season. Then he wants to get snarky just because a guy asked him a question about it?

I'm actually glad that he is feisty about the question!

Would you rather him act ho-hum about like it is no big deal?

Harris looked GREAT coming in offhte bench against Miss State (?, i think it was State). Then couldn't run the offense at all against Auburn. I understand them going back to Jennings but cannot fathom why Harris never saw another snap. That is simply inexcusable, unless they were afraid of causing a rift among the team.

But? But? He's an "offensive minded coach" like a genius reporter wrote recently.
