No. I remember Kentucky. He said the play in OT was right, and that some player missed a block on the 4th down play.
While true, a block was missed, he never owned up to it fully. Miles is a stand up guy. I have never doubted it, but his loyalty is to a severe fault at times. While an honorable characteristic, it can hurt the team greatly in the end.

he also said that he can coach better and that he will coach better
my roommate is on the team, and the blame went around evenly for the florida game

TigerBait1127, I stand corrected. I meant more in saying he made mistakes, but you are correct. I am happy to hear that the blame is going all around and the whole team is taking their fair share. I still think the DCs are the main problem.
It's hard enough to take someone else's system and succeed, but even harder when the system has already been shown to have severe flaws.

i think all of the coaches are smart enough to realize that they sucked last week
the players should also want to be out on the field even on special teams. The blame on that game is on players and coaches. Players didn't execute the plays that were called, and the coaches got severely outcoached. Personally, i think we are going to be fine this season and we are going to whoop arse the rest of the year

Reality is that Miles seems to refuse to ever admit that he has made a mistake. Despite everything, he's never accepted any responsibility (see offensive woes in 2006, defensive woes in 2nd half of 07 and now 08).
Considering what he accomplished in 2006 and 2007, we would call not taking responsibility for those years BEING HUMBLE.
The only mistake he made in '07 was not going for 2 points on the last touchdown of the Auburn game. Thanks to Tommy Tubberville's failure to realize that history repeats itself - he got a chance to redo that and make the right decision! (granted we didn't get the 2 pointer - but it was the right call).
Jeez, you're an ingrate. These are the GOLDEN YEARS OF LSU FOOTBALL. Hey, if we don't win an NC EVERY YEAR - that's Ok. Its Ok to just win a major bowl sometimes and finish in the top 5.

I would rather 1 good defensive coordinator than 2 sucky ones.

Gators offensive line coach Steve Addazio challenged his unit. To offset LSU's size advantage he had his players line up in splits of three and four feet apart, opening up more space for runs. Florida responded with 265 rushing yards — the second-most since Urban Meyer became the Gators' head coach.

Did anybody notice if we properly adjusted to the wide splits of the UF O-line ?
Seemed like we were too passive ...

Reality is that Miles needs to realize that the system IS broke and needs to be fixed. I hope he figures that out soon.
Ok and what if he doesn't? Or better yet, what if he doesn't live up to your standards of what you think he should do and the timeframe to do it? Now what?
I can only imagine what your answer will be. Let me jump ahead and answer what you will say. If LSU were to fire Les Miles or put him on the hot seat a year removed from the national title, not only will every viable candidate snub LSU, but we will end up looking like the biggest jackass institution of college football there ever was, next to Notre Dame firing Lou Holtz in a similar situation.

what would you do with an employee who does not perform as expected ?
what's the process....
review, evaluate, review, make a decision....
it's no different with coaching...as to the length of time.....factors must be considered: talent being one of them...
make no mistake...this is a business.

I've heard from several sources that CM can be a hardass behind closed doors. Do you honestly think that he's going to stand up in front of the microphones & tell the world how he's eaten this or that coach out for screwing up a scheme/system/play? No CEO in any business would ream out his subordinates in public, wash the dirty laundry, whatever you want to call it. He is not an idiot. He has watched a 100000000 hrs more film that anyone here, & actually understands what he is seeing on film, so, do you really think that he is not aware of what the problems are OR has no clue as to how to correct them? The same for his staff. That same falling apart at the seams scheme, with the exception of one long run, completely shut down O.State in the NC game, and they had a more than decent offense. Criticize all you want, we all have that right.. Just understand & accept that CM still knows more than you do. I've had season tickets since 1961. I know what a bad coach is, I know what bad staffs are. We have a winner here, bitch & moan all you want, but leave the decisions to him, we are in good hands.
