The guy's all about his family.

Take this favorite memory of LSU coach Les Miles. He was in his second season as head coach at Oklahoma State in 2002 when he made his first bowl game as a head coach, the Houston Bowl. The game, a 33-23 Cowboys win over Southern Mississippi, was on Dec. 27, meaning Christmas Day for the Miles family — Les, wife Kathy and children Ben, Kathryn and Manny (youngest daughter Macy was not born yet) — was spent in a hotel room. “I don’t remember which (kid), but one of the three we had at the time asked ‘Do you think Santa will find us here in Houston on Christmas?,’ ” Miles recalled. “I said, ‘Well, I don’t know.’ I said, ‘It’s really a question, so we better put a tree up.’ “So a drawing was hoisted just under a window and a real want for Santa to see the tree was there.”

No. Stupid is as stupid does.

He knows it pisses people off.

I really think he is. I've said before, I think he hates doing interviews with a passion, so he tries to talk in the most convoluted fashion in order to stop people from wanting to ask him questions.

He's a frickin' Yankee by nature. They do everything different up there including having a want to confuse us born and raised Southerners.

Yeah he is. His table at the Bacchus Bash was right next to ours a few years ago and the guy is about as normal as they come.

Tard nation would beg to differ though.

There will always be a certain segment of the fan base that will NEVER like Les. shite happens.

And some of them have good point.

quote:However, it doesn't work and they keep asking him questions so the idea is just stupid on it's face. He's the head coach of one of the top 5 programs in CFB. The notion that people wouldn't want to ask him questions about that really defines stupidity.
so he tries to talk in the most convoluted fashion in order to stop people from wanting to ask him questions.

Nick Saban--whom you and your ilk can't seem to sniff his jock hard enough--just asked the media to not ask his players about playing for the national championship. Which is more stupid?

Only in front of the media. If you ever meet him I bet you'd have a different take on him.

See what I mean? To this guy NOTHING he ever does will be good enough so why bother trying? I've met Les at a few different things in the past few years and media Les Miles is in no way, shape or form the same as IRL Les Miles.

Yeah, he likes to piss people off. My parents met him and said he was really nice. Normal. No different than any other person they've met.
He likes to piss the media and his naysayers off. I don't think he gives a rat's arse about perceptions people have of him. I think when you come under as much criticism as a head coach of a top-ranked program does, you have to have some sort of defense. He chooses bumbling over being a prick.
