on the other side (i'm just playing devil's advocate here, not hoping or wishing this would come true), can you imagine the negative publicity him and LSU would receive if he came back and got in trouble again?!?
TigerDroppings would fricking melt and burn down.

It shows a lot of character and loyalty from both sides. If TM can rebound from his mistakes and get on the straight and narrow LSU should seriously consider letting him back. It shows compassion and a strong pimp hand at the same time.

Not really, there are some that expect they to happen anyways.
Mathieu has always been a kid that enjoyed proving people wrong when it counted.

I don't agree. LSU has a hold on this kid I really believe that. I think he loves being a Tiger and after being hit with a huge reality check, he realizes if there is anyway he can play for LSU again he will try. He has proved himself in the SEC,so coming back to play in it wouldn't do a great deal to improve his draft status at this point.
Prior to this, Mathieu had the height thing hanging over him, but that was really it otherwise. Everything else was all positive. If it plays out where he's kicked off the team, plays at a I-AA school, and then enters the draft, he will not go high. He'll be perceived as a risk.
If he takes his lumps and then comes back strong at LSU, he'll shake the trouble label.
... and I do think he loves LSU.

if LSU/Les Miles can somehow turn this shite storm into something positive, it does nothing but solidify Les Miles' standing among the elite coaches in the SEC and across the nation

I think the national media might beat him up a bit but thats the point of not announcing he can officially return until he proves he can remain clean.
Once he does return and stays clean the national pub for LSU doing more than being a football factory will be huge.

les doesnt give a shite about the media, he cares about doing the right thing to help his players or former players on and off the field
Posted on 8/14/12 at 12:50 pm to redfieldk717
i wasn't saying les cared about the media. I believe les really does care for his players. If he didn't he would just process them instead of trying to help them.

This is clear to everyone. If Mathieu sticks it out and this happens, it'll also show the reverse is true and give a lot of insight into the LSU players real opinion of Les

i know you werent saying that, i was just saying it on my own

You or probably thought that last time as well.

Mathieu will solidify himself as a fan favorite if he sits a year and comes back.
It's unprecedented.

ok just making sure i didn't come off the wrong way in saying les cared about the media.

we should not expect an announcement on what tm7 is going to do, remember no news is good news
