Sumlin is ridic. He'll need a defense at some point.

The link in the OP does not agree anywhere with this data put out by USA Today originally. Miles at $4.46 Mil is #4 in SEC behind Saban, Bielema, and Jones. Sumlin will pass him up this year.

4 in pay, No. 4 Bowl pick. Last year the No. 6 Bowl.

Strong correlation.

Hate to tell you, but this statement came right from the mouth of an insider who is on the sidelines of most games. Most of the Miles lovers who think he is a great coach don't have a clue how he is actually viewed amoung people in the know.

Dear God, we have some dumbass fans. "People in the know" F'ing awesome.

He shouldn't be in the top 10. He is the reason why LSU has to spend the most money on assistant coaches in the SEC.

This is a fact. I like how stating such a fact pisses these clueless sunshine pumpers off. Miles is only as good as the assistants around him. That is undisputable.

Safe to assume you aren't "in the know" then?

Don't fret, I'm not either.

That's just too funny. You can't make up the idiocy of some of LSU's "fans." Oh and does that make saban a defensive dolt because they pay so much for Kirby?

The difference is in most other cases the head coach could leave the sideline during the course of the game and it would have a negative effect on the team. Miles leaves the sideline and it would be have zero effect, at worst. Most likely it would be a positive.

That's what I don't understand. With Manziel he lost 4 games. How does that warrant a raise??

Without Manziel, his team is going to be better for it. Do it all QBs do not make a balanced offense. If they have a bad game, the team is in deep shite. The guy Allen he's getting will have that offense going back to a more realistic spread and he'll use his RBs more. He'll also focus more on developing his defense. Hire a good DC and with Texas being off, he can rack up more defensive studs in the state like Myles Garrett.

4th or 5th in pay. 4th or 5th in football. He's the winningest coach we've ever had though.

Such an impatient pussy. We'll be back in it in 2015.

Sumlin getting 5 million is crazy

This reminds me of the Kiffen fiasco at Tenn and USC. Paying a coach big money, that has won absolutely nothing, is absurd.

Sumlin has not won anything yet nor has he played for anything yet

But just think of all the money he brought the university by his recruitment of Johnny fball, him naming him the starting qb in spring practice and control of the program. Oh wait!

Now that funny. About as funny as your obvious opinion that Les Miles is an asset to have on your sideline during the course of a game.

I mean... He's our Head Coach. Yeah, I like having him on the sideline.

But please, please do shed light on all the inner-workings of our gameday preparation and execution that you are privvy to. I'd honestly like to hear.

Not privy to anything. Except knowledge of how to spell the word privy. I do however possess eyes that have seen an assload of gameday coaching decisions cost or almost cost his team the football game. I've seen enough of these instances to be able to draw the conclusion that Miles is not necessarily an asset to have out there making decisions when the game is on the line. Recruiting, managing the day to day aspects of the team he is apparently skilled at. Making the right call after the ball has been put down, not so much.

So you know that all the negative decisions come from Les? What about the good things that happen? Those are all Cam/the players? You said a coach is only as good as his assistants, so shouldn't they be blamed for these vaguely defined poor gameday decisions? Seems as if maybe you are PRIVY to some things.

I don't fricking care what some mouth breather grad assistant has to say about the most successful coach in lsu history.

Sad that there are fans like this douche that continue to trash the program because they hate the coach's success.
