You must have missed 2009.

If you listen to some fans like yourself, one would think we tanked in 2009. 9-3 regular season, while not great, is a good year no matter how you slice it.

Look at Sooners' wins this year. Only Seminoles impressive. Could have lost any of the other 3, and 2 of the three were home games.

Could be the Texas with a horrible offense and getting stumped at home by UCLA.

It could be a lot worse. And who would you hire, and don't give the Gruden crap. In case you don't remember, the choices after Saban left were Petrino, Miles and Nutt. Don't believe the Del Rio stuff. And what's to say Del Rio would have been better than Miles? He's sure isn't much of a NFL coach, just like guy at Pitt.

And that is the problem for isn't it? He makes more than you can ever dream to make. And yet there you are sitting home munching your Cheetos and you know that you are a better football coach. That just eats at you. You look at the scores from your XBox games and you know you can do better so it eats at your soul.

I do like your point about what coaches were available after Saban bolted. Timing is everything with hiring coaches and sometimes you have to roll the dice.

We haven't been "skull F**Ked" by them other than 2008 to Gators when Lee was having vision problems. We beat the crap out of Auburn with a defense not as good as this year and an offense that was worse than what we have so far. So how do you KNOW we will get drilled?

Those teams are not as good as last year, and we have improved as a team. So how do you know what's gonna happen in a month? Go play the Lotto if you are a fortune teller.

So you think this years team would beat the 2009 squad?

Come on. Everyone on this board comments him as a family man and he has managed this club pretty well at times. He brought LSU a NC.

However, at some point he needs to take the blame, 100% of it, for JJ not being where he needs to be, and for the coordinator debacles, and for the time management issues. Alot on this board, like myself, would like to see Miles just throw himself under the bus. Take the blame for everything that is happening under his watch.

You cannot give him a pass for fixing the DC problems when he created them himself. Same with OC. Agree?

I know this wasn't directed at me, but LSU 2010 would be favored over LSU 2009.

We are better this year in every aspect of the game except the offensive passing game, where we are equal to 2009.

I guess you have foresight instead of hindsight? Foresight is always better, but unfortunately no one I know has foresight. He took the blame by replacing the coordinators. Crowton seemed like a home run hire in 2007. Hell he was called by many on this site a genius.

you think he made these hires to screw LSU or his team? Come on man! Give it break. Everyone has made some mistakes. "He without fault cast the first stone!"

I don't give 3 shits about Zero U. all I care about is LSU, and part of this product is shite. I don't think Miles will get the boot this year minus a total embarrassing lost like 48-3 and lose the other 4 expected games. We know the our d is good and will keep us in all the games, but what I am worried about is (-) turnover margin which could cause one of these games to get real ugly.

I give him no pass for Malveto. I give him credit for fixing it. As far as Crowton, do we know whether or not the offense is what he wants it to be or is it because it is what is has to be because of our QB. Miles and Crowton should get blame for the the QB situation we are in without a doubt. But that is the rub. In my opinion we are ONE PLAYER away from contending for the SEC title.

Now, that one missing link is huge. I know Miles Haters don't like when you bring up RP, but where would the last 2 seasons have been with him and what would this season look like with a RS Junior or RS Sophomore starting for us. So it is on him for not having a QB but all of the other pieces are in place.

So you don't like Miles and want him gone? I understand, but WHO CAN BE HIRED THAT IS GUARANTEED to have a better winning percentage wise?? You rather look good and lose, I guess?

Again, after Saban, who were the candidates? Who wants to coach at this place with a fan base that fires a coach winning almost 80% of his games? Bill Cowher and Gruden and Muschamp and all those great coaches. How do you know they will be better.

The most popular QB is the one holding the clipboard. So you rather roll the dice on some assistant Smart, Muschamp etc... Dumb and Dumber>

it's a problem for me when he is one of the highest paid coaches in the country & he's putting out one of the most unorganized defenses in recent memory in 08, one of the worst offenses in the country last year & so far this year.

i won't argue with you on the guarantee, but the crop of proven coaches that could come available are better this year than they were in 2005. Will he get fired? only way is what I said above, but at the very least he will have to hire a new OC.

Hell no. I think Miles truly loves LSU and is doing what he thinks will help LSU succeed.

Unfortunately, I do not see how we can excuse all of the problems away. If we get beat by a team because we are less talented, should we excuse Miles and co. because they had no "foresight" and could not have known our players would be bust?

I totally agree that the expectations among many on this board are ridiculous. Everyone has a few down years especially with the parity in college football. However, I do believe there can be a good argument as to whether Miles is a 10-11 win guy or a 8-9 win guy. We will see.
