Miles-Krag and the JJ situation

So we know it's announced that JJ is the unquestioned starter for the season
Is this really the case or are they saying this to give JJ some confidence?
I can't imagine it's really set in stone until fall camp plays out. It's not like he's head and shoulders better than JL or Mett.
So I suppose my question is: Do you think we'll have a legit QB competition going in to the season? I understand that the job is JJ's to lose but is there any chance at all that he loses it?

There has to be an open competition. Makes all three QBs better IMO.
I would hope Miles is looking to improve the QB position from last year. If so, he needs to push Jefferson by having Mettenberger threaten to take his position. In the end the best QB (Mettenberger
) should be the starter.
Makes no sense to not have a competition. If you don't your best QB and the one who gives you the best chance to win may be sitting on the bench.

Drew Brees of the Super Bowl season could have come in and miles would still play jj until we have 2 losses.

Side A= There is a legit competition, and the starter against Oregon will be the winner of that competition.
Side B= There is no competition. Never was. JJ is the starter because Miles likes mobility more than winning.

I fear that but I think that some of it might be trying to see if making that statement gives JJ some confidence. I hope they're all working with the WRs this summer because our passing game last year cost us a shot at the NC

we didn't have one of those....so Crowton should designed an offense to work with what we had. Maybe he'd still have a job if he had.

I think we have a legit competition going on. Les has said multiple times that he expects Mett to compete for the job in the fall. If Mett is gonna be the starter he has to earn it, Les isn't gonna hand it to him just because he has a cannon for an arm.
