Miles is at LSU through the end of 2014 for sure

Miles has 9 wins and is highly likley to get 10 with either a win at home against a struggling Ole Miss and possible 11 or 12 wins if things really line up for wins against Arky and th Bowl game. Heck, there still is an outside chance for a shot at all the marbles...
Anyhoo, Miles has corrected the bad defense from 2008, but 2009 and 2010 QB issues has not allowed him to fix the offense.
LSU will likely have Mettenberer and 2 Sr QB's with lots of experience, and a strong returning contingent on offense and defense..
Looks like Miles has made it through the QB and Oline woes with an improved situation for 2011 and beyond..
Crowton might even be gone, but don't bet on it...
SO, 2011-2014 will be strong all around teams with a Chief-led defense, improved options at QB, and what shapes up to be an incredible Oline with the recruits like Collins coming in..
Folks, Miles has made it through the rut..
Miles is not going anywhere until at least 2015, and possibly a lot longer than that
Embrace the Hat - Milesbonics, grass eating and all - He is all ours
So...Love the Hat !! He is ours to keep.

If he can get the QB situation resolved I am not sure I want him gone, I do not see who everyone expects LSU to pull in who will do better.

I am fine with that. Let him operate under his current contract. Please do not roll over and give him another year. This will be upsetting. He already has multiple years and LSU has a crappy contract. Don't do it. He should at least have to win another West Title before he gets another year.

The players love him and play for him...
I guess Texas, USC, UGA and Florida have coaches we would all would want.

I haven't been a Miles fan the last 3 years. But I now realize that despite some high profile game management mistakes he excells in other areas.
If he ends Crowton's career at LSU and the offense is enabled to play at their potential, the future is something to look forward to.

Just win. I do not care how. I do, however, care how we lose.

Next year could be a legit run at the NCG. Should be IMO. The team, despite the offensive woes has exceeded my expectations.
But Miles isn't going anywhere. Wouldn't even if LSU lost 4 games this year.

I just saw that on CFF. OMG!! did you see Saban hit the kid on the arse as he was getting done chewing the kid's arse out? It wasn't one of those supportive sports kind of pats on the butt but looked like he really hit the kid to punish him.
Definitely not someone I'd want coaching my kid.

LSU is in the top 10 in total AD revenues and in football revenues.
It doesn't matter what alumni, boosters, students and other fans think about the coach - General Greenback is the person who decides the fates.
If the school feels that there would be a substantial increase in income if Miles were to be replaced , then they would do it ASAP.
If , in this economy, they feel that there wouldn't be significant change in revenue , then they would, as almost everyone would, maintain status quo and retain Miles.
The school has much more at stake than mere coaching styles and dislikes - if there is an actual unaccounted dip in the revenue , then look for immediate steps to be taken.
Till then embrace The Hat

I'd be ecstatic just to see crowton gone.... Get someone who will utilize our talent and give us something fun to watch.

The two are the same. I care about the how, the process, because it is the foundation for continued succcess. What I am giving recognition to is simply the fact that Miles has endured the low point and will have LSU back in the 10-or-more win category for the next 3 years beyond this year, so he is not going anywhere. That does not mean I prefer his game decision making, but it does mean that I see that his recruiting (players and coaches) prowess and good fortune outweigh the poor game decisions, and that the 2008-2010 Oline+QB low points are a thing of the past now, so he has a chance to get the 2007 formula back in the next 3 years...We need to accept his ways and embrace his quirkiness/style and to enjoy the ride that is Coach Miles

Hey, I've never been a hat fan even in the best of times. And quite honestly I likely never will be.
But I'm able to separate my feelings for coaches from my love for LSU and it does not affect my supporting the team and therefore the coach passionately.
As I said yesterday, I did it with Dale Brown for 25 years. I'll do it for the Hat as long as he's here.
That doesn't mean I won't question or criticize in a reasonable manner. I've earned that right and I'll excercise it.
