So he should have been fired at the end of last season but also deserved to coach this entire season? Make up your mind. Plenty of coaches who underachieve get fired mid season. God forbid LSU cut ties with a guy who underperformed while also negotiating LSU to make his best friend the highest paid OC in football.

to expound on that, while everyone was gushing over all the gossip Skip was dishing out, everyone seemed to miss one REALLY important thing skip said.
he talked about how he wanted Meyer but Meyer had already been hired at UF.
why was that? because UF's AD got the jump on everyone else by firing Zook midseason in 2004.
sure would be history repeating itself if Meyers understudy was hired by a program that fired its previous coach midseason.
