IF Bo Rein had not died.
IF my aunt had nuts...
I get all that. but damn, the kicker missed not one but TWO fg's in a row. how often does that happen? LSU was very lucky to get out with a win against Miss St.

Not very lucky considering State's kicker had a career long of 40 and was only 20 for 35 in his career.

60/40 would be great. We would steamroll teams. Actually 50/50 would be better because we hve a great arm and 5 star WR (USE IT !!) then the run would be wide arse open and the crew would run free all nite

broad statement here - I've never understood supporting an offensive strategy in football that is predictable, so the defense essentially knows what's coming. It's the "we'll impose our will on the defense" theory of offense. Never understood that. I guess it's a testosterone thing in this manly sport.
Would Lebron James telegraph his moves to the defense - "I'm going to drive to the right and will pull up for a 15 foot jumper." Would a pitcher tell the batter "I'm now going to throw a fastball."
Of course not. Deception and unpredictability are a huge part of strategy to keep your opponent guessing what you're going to do. This applies in any sport.
Why is it, in football, that people ignore this and simply say " we have a powerful OL and stud RBs, so we'll just run down the defense's throat"? That might work against inferior teams, but not against decent or good teams. Don't they realize that DCs know what's coming and, with good athletes, can hold us down. After all, we punted on 8 of last 9 possessions against MSU.
Just never understood how some people accept it.

Come on, man. Les shut our offense down the last 3 quarters and we let MSU have a kick at the buzzer to beat us. Just because they have a bad kicker doesn't mean we were any less lucky.

Damn, but some are going to talk stupid shite no matter what's told them and what they see. We had penalties which took two TDs off the board and others that killed drives. Our QB admitted to checking out of eleven called pass plays. Just stop with the stupid shite about Les shutting down the offense for three quarters. Anyone still believing that has to be brain dead.

All those 3 and outs/punts in the second half were a mirage huh?

You're right we scored at will in the second half.....what was I thinking. Another disciple of the Lescam school of offense.

Yeah, that's totally what I said.

Calm down, you dolt. Go back and look at the drive summaries and maybe pop a xanax and chill.

Re-watching the second half requires a xanax.

I was being sarcastic but by all means, defend that shite show all you want.

You realize that by "checking out" of the pass plays Harris almost certainly meant that he looked to the sideline for a "check with me" call and the coaches told him to do that. Do you really believe that Harris (who's apparently has such a delicate psyche that he can't be allowed to throw the ball for fear of making a mistake) overrode the coach's play calling on 11 different occasions? Good lord, man!
And we punted on 8 of our last 9 possessions. Ran the ball 15 of our 16 plays in the 4th quarter. If that ain't shutting it down, I don't know what is.
The lengths that some people will go to defend our coach, no matter what, is just unbelievable.

You're jumping to a lot of conclusions. You're not a very smart man, are you?

Do you really want our fate coming down to a kicker's leg though in an SEC game. At some point, we will face a kicker who can hit his azz with both hands.

you can slice and dice the stats if you like, but the reality is that we punted on 8 of our last 9 possessions.
Whether they were 3 and outs or not doesn't really matter. Our offense was terribly ineffective for nearly the last 3 quarters.
Posted on 9/18/15 at 3:15 pm to atltiger6487
Good lord why are y'all reading so much into my posts? I never said our offense was kicking arse. We clearly have things to work on. But I'm trying to be fair to the situation. To act like we just pounded our dicks in the dirt three plays and punted it away every possession is disingenuous at best.
